oldrtybastrd (1793), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA Oct 30, 2008 Courtesy of SkyCop32. Picked up at Maruhn Getränke in Darmstadt. Pours a dark hazy brown color. Aromas of bread, malt, and some fruit. Flavor has a touch of sweet malt and clove, I think. Overall, not to bad. swoopjones (1234), Buffalo, New York, USA Sep 30, 2008 @ Wiesengrund in munich. Pours a deep dark brown with khaki colored head. Didnt get too much out of the aroma. Dried fruits, malty sweetness, slight tangy. decent JoeinUccle (716), Brussels, Belgium Apr 11, 2008 This is really an interesting and flavorful beer that ought to be more famous, in my opinion. All the bottles I’ve had, even young ones, have a slight but odd sour character that adds to the refreshment value for me. It pours dark brown with a tall but receding beige head. Smells malty with some cider and other fruit notes, unusual nose for a Weizen. The sweetness in the flavor is very restrained, rolling through that fruity, bready sourness and and light bitterness. Malty-fruity aftertaste. Fairly chewy. Lots of character and yet quaffable. Lots to like here. Bierhotte (1), Germany does not count Apr 4, 2007 Dieses Bier ist eines der besten Biere die ich jemals getrunken habe. Es schmeckt sehr malzig ist aber trotzdem mild im Abgang. Die Flasche erinnert an die guten alten Plöp Bierflaschen der Vergangenheit. pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Nov 8, 2006 Flip-top bottle: Hazy, very dark amber coloured, small tanned head, that slowly diminishes to a small, stable foamy layer; almost toasted aromas in the sweetish, fruity (black berries) and a bit sourish nose; mild sweetish-sourish flavour, medium to full bodied; toasted malty, fruity (berries again) and sweet finish. A very well done mixture of a Dunkel and a Weizen; reminds me a very little bit of a Liefmans Goudenband..........
