50cl fliptop, Maruhn. 2nd time I had this in the last half-year, 1st occasion must have somehow passed by unnoticed, although this is a surprisingly unique and tasty brew. Pours a near black mahogany with generous beige, krausen-like indented foam. Roasted malts imparting caramel notes, while the dry astringent mouthfeel remains intact; highly enjoyable unfiltered/"Keller" creaminess, complemented by banana/peach puree sweetness. Body remains pleasantly light for an unfiltered Dunkelweizen. Dominant in aroma, taste and mf becomes an incipient smoky sensation which is best grasped, by a stroke of olfactory genius, as "burnt match" (Allen).

Fliptop from Arden Wines. Cola ruby with an uncontrollable cream heap of suds. Massive sahti-like banana, clove, pepper and red apple nose. Full and spicy with clovier-than-clove yeast, bubblegum, overripe banana, sarsaparilla and strudel flavours. Beautiful.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and dried fruit. Sweetish, malty aroma with some roasty and caramel notes. Dryish aftertaste.

Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, wheat and light coffee. Flavour is roasted malt, wheat, coffee and liquorish.

Black and hazy, nice stable white head. Smell is too neutral for a weizen. Maybe a bit sourness and yeast, but quite boring. The taste is better: yeasty, pepper, a bit chocolate, a bit roasty. Medium body and fizzy.

Bottle @ Home. Gusher, that pours hazy colalike brown with a creamy offwhite head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, caramel, bubblegum, banana. Flavor is wheat, yeats, banana, caramel. Medium body, lively carbonation. 160313

Flasche mit McTapps verköstigt. Durchaus fein mit leichter Hefe und Fruchtigkeit von vorne bis hintern. Trinkbar, süßlich.

Deep brown colour with steady, creamy head and smooth body. Nose of malt. Taste of bitter chocolate, torf, burnt toffee, roast, smoke and caramel. Easy to drink but not that delicious in the end.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malt, hop, wheat, caramel. Flavour is sweet, caramel, malt, hop, orange, wheat, banana. Medium body. Ordinary beer.
