Bouteille (15.08.14). Beaucoup de bruit à l’ouverture. La mousse est très pétillante. Une robe noisette foncée. Un nez simple de fraise. Une bouche de blé, piquante, mince mais on sent le bock.

Meilleure avant le 15.08.14. Brune acajou. Anneau de mousse. Touche verte, épices, poivre, noix, céréales grillées et sucre brun au nez. Pointe d’alcool, épices, caramel, traces chocolatées et herbes sur les papilles. Pétillement assez actif. Minceur avouée. Finale un peu verte avec une pointe épicée. Buvable.

0,5l bottle, best before 22.05.14. Dark brown in the glass with an intense yeasty-fruity-sticky nose. The beer starts intense voluminous. Dark fruit, ripe banana, clove and roasted malt. Easy to drink, very fruity. The aftertaste is long, fresh-fruity, smooth, roasted caramel, fruity banana, very fresh-fruity and deep-roasted-dusty in one. Very nice. 13/12/13/13

500ml bottle, dark mahogany-ruby color, with a pale beige head, with a Nice spicy, fruity bananish, yeasty nose, with some clove, cinnamon, fruitcake, dark dried fruit accents, with a figgy, raisiny, toffee, pale, wheat, toasted, biscuity malt, strudel dough note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice yeasty, fruity banana, spicy clovey, cinnamon, fruitcake, apple pie character, with some dried fig, raisin, toffee, raisin pie, toasted, caramel, wheat malty, banana bread flavours, leading towards a fruity, spicy, doughy yeastiness, clove, cinnamon, dried dark fruit, toasted, caramel, wheat maltiness finish.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep brown color bock with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of banana bread with some residual sugar notes is quite enticing. Taste is also dominated by banana bread ester with some residual sugars notes. Light toasted malt is also noticeable. Body is quite light with good carbonation. Fell a bit short in terms of complexity but still quiet enjoyable.

Bouteille de 500 ml obtenue via Importations Privées Bièropholie au coût de 6,30$. Arôme: Légère odeur de céréales grillées avec une pointe d’épices. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée-brunâtre avec une très faible densité de bulle. Saveur: Goût de céréales légèrement grillées avec une pointe de banane et d’houblon. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement huileuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de caramel en arrière goût. (Rating #5774)

Rastacouere (6148) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 9, 2014
Surprisingly clear mahogany pour covered by a lasting off-white sheet of regular tiny beige bubbles. Spicy, slightly green, minty, peppery, clovey, parsley touched nose that becomes more phenolic as it warms, but was actually quite fruity and banana laden when cooler. Quite easy drinking despite the vigorous carbonation which does not quite overtake the creamy, banana puree and bready impressions that develop on the palate. Alcohol remains a moderate presence all throughout, as it should for a sub 7% weizenbock. Toasty, fruity middle. Closes with herbaceous hops meddling with pleasant smokey phénols. Nice and different. I like the evolution as it warms and opens up and the subtle spice rack phenolic impression in the nose that leaves more room to maltiness in mouth. And this maltiness comes with no tiring sugar presence.

Bavarian Weizenbock with greyish, light beige, equal, creamy head, stable; very dark chestnut brown colour with rusty hue, misty. Gentle but complex aroma, lots of coffee- and especially chocolate-like dark malts, hazelnuts, dried plums, cinnamon, flowers, wheat, banana, orange. Sweet malty taste, caramelly and chocolatey, fluffy and mellow mouthfeel, light wheat sourishness, some citrus, light toasted accent in the middle, subtle aromatic hops and warming, but not astringent alcohol, though the soft maltiness stays dominant. Very tasty.

Une brune qui ne s’embarrasse pas d’une mousse. Fortement herbacé au nez, mentholé par dessus ça, avec des effluves de blé et de miel et de raisins secs. Un goût qui pourrait paraître simple, mais c’est tout le contraire. Du blé, des herbes, du malt, du houblon qui, bien expliqués, un à la suite de l’autre, ensemble, ils déjouent la première impression. Surprenant. M.A. 15-08-14 (1134-010714)

Bottle. Moderate roasted cereal for the malt, cooked orange for the hops, dough for the yeast, with dried fruit and a mix of baking spices in the background. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky medium brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is medium, slickwith a lively carbonation. Probably the most complex Weizen Bock I’ve had since being in Germany.
