Pours clear deep gold with thin white head. The aroma is bold apple cider, sweet malts, smooth spices and faint lemon tartness. The taste starts malty sweet before sweet apples goodness picks up and bleeds into more mildly roasted maltiness and smooth spices. The apple note re-surges into the finish. This has aged wonderfully.

Bottle, at BA Throwdown #2. Pours a golden yellow color, minimal head and wet lacing. Cider notes in the nose, some honey, sugar, creamy notes of tropical fruit. Full spicy body, yeast, cinnamon, some clove, distant ginger and some apple. Smooth, held up very well, tasty.

Thanks to iowaherkeye for bringing this bottle to his ’farewell to Iowa’ tasting. Poured a slightly hazy golden color with a white head. I smelled subdued maple syrup and pear. Medium bodied and slightly sweet. I tasted pear, husky grain, toffee, powdered sugar, and clove. Not bad.

Thanks iowaherkeye! Light amber pour with a medium white head. Light cork, apple, and yeast aroma. Flavor is green apple, apricot, pineapple, yeast. Lightly tart dry finish with a touch of belgian yeast sweetness and some booze. This held up really well, and didn’t have a hint of being oxidized.

750mL bottle, sampled at the 1st Annual Shenandoah Beer Throwdown, courtesy of kmweaver. Thanks Ken! This beer was incredibly oxidized. Thats all I really tasted. Maybe some yeastiness as well, but not much of the unibroue house character was left. I must confess, I still have not grown into loving these oxidized messes.
