This was certainly a rare treat - thanks OmegaX. This 11-year old bottle had quality beyond what I expected from Unibroue. The body had a brilliant, hazy orange color to with with soft carbonation. It smelled like dank hops, kumquat and yeast - all coming together quite like a Creamsicle. The taste was herbal and delicate; honey, dried citrus, cereal, mango and yeast. Definitely my favorite beer from these people, such a great job done here.

Thanks, Jsquire, for practically giving this to me. Wow this has been on the top of my wants list for a long time. Aroma was big time tropical fruit. Mango and guava notes with a hint of bread and caramel/toffee. As it warmed up the Unibroue spice came through to give it their signature aroma. Almost no indication of the ABV. This one poured out golden orange with a fizzy white head. I was surprised that an eleven year old beer could even have carbonation left. Soft carbonation on the palate but still pleasingly carbonated. Taste is big time guava, mango, and other fruits. Sweet, sticky caramel and toasted malts with some clove and spice. Very good. Probably my favorite Unibroue to date. Wow, what a treat.

750ml corked bottle pours a hazy golden orangeish color with a 3 finger white head that lasts a while and eventually settles down to leave some fine lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruits and some toasty malts and yeast with a trace of hops. Taste is light fruits and toasty malt sweetness followed by some light hop bitterness and the yeasty finish. A pleasing strong ale with a medium to heavy body with ample carbonation and a slight alcohol burn. A good example of the style.

Bottle split the Andrew. Pours a hazy, cloudy orange body - pretty much flat at this point. Aroma is nice mixed fruis, honey and Belgian spice. Mouthfeel itill resembles the classic unibroue champagne spritzer texture, but a bit muted. Notes of fruit, honeysuckle, sweet malts, vanilla, and toast.

This poured a very light brown to dark yellow, definitely cloudy too. Flavor was the same typical spices that are in all their beers, with some cardboard this time as well. Flavors in this one are really weak, light spices and alcohol with cardboard too. This one is definitely gone.

tepid gold, no head. Dusty wheat, honey, and sugar, stale with ethanol and cardboard. Flavor is ultra washed, grains indistinguishable, soft, light fruit sweetness. Think this one is gone at this point.

A: The pour is a very light straw color with a minimal white head capping it. S: The nose has a strong white wine aroma to it. You could also pick out some similarities to mead. Overall, it’s just really sweet. A fair amount of alcohol along with some cork and cardboard oxidation. T: Intensely sweet with more of that white wine and mead-like character. A pretty large yeast note and plenty of cardboard to it as well. M: The body is medium with a low to medium level of carbonation. D: Not surprisingly, this one is well on the way downhill. Not really worth drinking at this point.

Bottle 750ml. @ home.

[ Trade by fiulijn ]. Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, vintage, light white nuts, moderate yeasty, spicy, coriander. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, alcohol, fruit, dried light fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100725]

Not a great beer at all, not terrible, I wouldnt buy it again. I was expecting substantially more. I dont think this held up nearly as well as it should have.
