Pale golden color with an initial bright white head. Aroma is spicy and yeasty. Flavor starts peppery with a touch of honey and mint leaf and a hint of apricot and coriander. Finish is slightly tart and quite dry. Medium to full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation.

Bottle: Very sweet and yeasty aroma. Light citrus and peach. Pours a transparent golden-orange with a quickly diminishing white head. Real sweet, malty, and fruity. Yeasty finish. Unibroue yeast flavor is there but it doesn’t seem to be as strong as most of their beers. Yeastiness gradually increases as it warms.

You can still find this stuff at Bottleworks, the best retired beer distributer I have come across. Well, I am sad to report that it appears I have recieved a bottle that has somehow lost is carbonation entirely...no head whatsoever, no sea monkeys, no lace, no welcome burps, and conversely, no unwelcome burps...just flat beer. The good news is everything else seems to be here: a very chewy aroma filled with candied fruit, alchohol esters, and slightly smoked woodiness. The chewiness carries over into the flavor and especially the palate, giving the beer a very smooth tangible quality. The alchohol was really well incorporated, and other than in the aroma almost undetectable. I really do wish there was the slightest bit of carbonation to give the palate that lift I know should be there, but I will definitely take this with a grain of salt, although in reality it hardly needs it. A very quaffable beer, with the utmost care given to the malt/yeast/alchohol balance, a quality that seems so difficult for brewers to achieve, yet Unibroue seems to do this effortlessly.

Hazy orange, my pour resulted in a moderate creamy head. Heavy rich orchard fruit aroma, smooth creamy palate with long sweet-spicy finish--nutmeg, cloves--bathed in a light clean citrus. Sunny and summery-ripe but winter-warming in strength, best of both worlds. Glad I got the last two bottles for takeout! I’ll drink the second one even more slowly. Re-rate: the second time I drank this at room temp and it wasn’t hazy at all, bright deep gold.

Very large white head of fine bubbles. Little rocky and creamy on top. Settles very slowly with great carbonation. Color is a slightly cloudy pale golden orange. Light and fruity aroma. Bit of spices and yeast typical of Unibroue beers. Some pears in there. Flavor is very smooth. Slightly fruity with a noticable alcohol presence. Warming as it goes down. Actually the alcohol detracts from the flavor which I did not notice with the 10. Finish is clean and slightly dry. A very good belgian strong ale but I think that the 10 was a little better and more flavorful. Thanks to tiggmtl for this one.

Bright gold with with thick white head. Citrus and malt nose. Heavey weight with a refreshing finish. Creamy vanilla, gooseberry, citrus, malt....WOW what a beer, like a belgian wit w/o the overly spiced quality! I like and wish I had more!

750ml bottle: This one pours a hazy, lighter golden color. There is a minimal amount of carbonation and head. The aroma is quite nice. There are notes of citrus, yeastiness, and some banana. The taste is quite good. The alcohol is not present at all. Some breadiness, yeastiness, clove, banana. All the characteristics of a very good trippel. All around, a very good brew!
