The beer spills from the cork and caged 750ml bottle a beclouded amber orange color with a large creamy white head, with the residual lace a thick concealing sheet. Nose is fruity, oranges and limes, malt sweet with the hops aromatic, crisp like sparkling wine. Front has a sweet and sour effect on the palate, nicely malted, top is medium in feel. Finish has tenacious acidity, hops give a nice finishing spicy bite, and desert dry aftertaste seals itself to the palate, one of their better beers of late.

Sampled at the Newtown Brewfest 07 with Stegosaurus. These guys stole the show bringing the biggest variey of beer and they were awesome guys. Good clean belgian beer. Nice gold body with clove , bread and banana aromas with a sneaky strong alcohol finish. Loved it.

I unfortunately drank this at the end of the evening, but it was a friend’s bottle and who was I to say no? A big big beer bursting with flavor as are the other Unibroue anniversary ales, but with a different character to the previous ones. I wish I could try it again.

Bottle: Pours a hazy orangey/golden. The head is well retained when you give the bottle a swirl and disturb the sediment. Bright fruity/spicy aroma. Has suggestions of pears, green apples. When you swirl the glass you can get a whiff of barnyard/funky yeast notes. There’s a nice spiciness to it as well of peppery alcohol. The mouth feel is nice and fluffy. The tingly carbonation becomes creamier as it sits. Has a mellow fruity flavor. There’s lots of pear in there, as well as white grapes and fresh green apple-skins. There’s a light sweetness in the background of butterscotch and clover honey. The finish has a light spiciness of white pepper. No indication of alcohol in the flavor. A subtly complex, easy going, and dangerously drinkable Belgian Ale.

Golden in colour, large white coloured head, excellent retention, great lacing. The aroma is very yeasty and musty, some citrus, spice, fruity and some perfume. The flavour is lightly lemony, lots of yeast and must, good spice, noticeable candy sweetness. Fizzy and warm mouthfeel, medium/light body, high carbonation. Finishes long and warming, yeasty, sweet. Its another really good anniversary beer from Unibroue but this one seems to get lost in the swarm of other golden ales that they produce.

750ml bottle from <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/new-york/rochester/beers-of-the-world/491.htm target=blank>Beers Of The World in Rochester, New York for $8.45.
Purchased on June 30, 2006 and opened on September 8, 2007.
No date.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold, settling to clear, with thin white head. Aroma is initially yeasty, earthy, musty and opens up with some citrus and faint spice. Has some of the fizzy belgian character but not quite there. Flavors of honey, lightly acidic, with a spiciness that is undefined. Maltiness comes through in the end and the finish fairly dry with hints of apple and alcohol. Very nice, lacking in feel and a little in complexity but damn good.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a large white head that fades to a 1cm lasting head leaving some lacing. Aroma of yeast, citrus, honey, and light caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full body with a mild amount of bitterness and light spicy finish. Very good
