TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Jan 1, 2007 Pours bright golden and hazy with a thin, mostly receding fluffy white head.
Taste and aroma are peppery, sweet fruity and yeasty, cotton candy, bubble gum. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy bodied, and sweet as usual from Unibroue. The fruitiness of this falls short about midway through the finish, perhaps due to the greater precence of alcohol. Very similar yeast to the Edition 2004. gallagwar (30), USA Dec 31, 2006 Doesn’t taste nearly as strong as it is. Pours wonderfully and maintains its head. Very cloudy with nice color. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA Dec 30, 2006 .75L bottle: Poured a cloudy apricot color with a lasting head. Fruity aroma is very pleasant. Good flavor has a strong alcohol and a subtle honey flavor. The extreme level of carbonation left me a bit frustrated, however, as it was an excellent beer otherwise...reading other descriptions leads me to believe the bottle I drank had a higher-than-normal level of CO2...but this may not bother other consumers as much as it did me TampaBeer (181), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 28, 2006 Nice bright orange color. Very solid ale. Not lacking in any department, Sweet aroma, sweet flavor balanced well with lots of belgian attributes. probstk (1011), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Dec 28, 2006 750 mL bottle shared with family over Christmas. App.: cloudy, orangey-amber, fluffy white head that starts big and fades somewhat. Aroma: honey, coriander, some figs and dried fruits, a touch yeasty, a bit of apple and pear. Palate: med. body, slightly astringent, soft yet bubbly carbonation. Flav.: honey, coriander, apricots, a bit sweet, and a somewhat alcoholic finish. blankboy (3165), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 15, 2006 Bottle shared with the gang at Decemberfest 2006 -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a murky light gold with a large lasting fluffy white head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty with spices, fruit and light hops. Flavour follows the aroma but I liked it even more: Yeasty, spicy, fruity and with a bitter/alcoholic finish - -easy to drink and quite flavourful. Medium bodied. Really good and gets better the further you get into it. shp555 (1680), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 14, 2006 Pours a hazy yellow color with a white fluffy head. Aroma is of light sweet malts and spices, nutmeg. Very smooth spicey flavor that finishes kind of sweet. Good mouth feel for such a light colored beer. Slacks (481), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Dec 10, 2006 750ml Bottle @ Decemberfest 2006; Thanks to HogTownHarry for the bottle: Came out cloudy, a blend of orange and yellow in gradient, with a good finger width of head. Offers excellent head retention, as Unibroue typically do, and was a great beer to look at. The aroma is not unexpected from this brewer: coriander, cloves, orange peel, pepper, and yeast are the stronger notes. The flavour is remarkably strong and very pleasing, bringing through all we found in the aroma and adding in some anise, lemon, and apricot flavours. I’m truly happy to have sampled this one, great stuff.
