Sweetness, berries, and perfumed ripe fruits in the nose. Flavour is sweet, yeasty and fruitssweet. Medium bodied.. Yeasty, spiced sweet end. Not a bad beer but lacks some debts to be a really good BSA IMO. Papsoe (14881), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 2, 2006 (Bottle 75 cl) Pours a hazy, amber golden with tiny impurities and an off-white head. Lightly sweet aroma with some yeast up there. Full-bodied and sweetish malty with traces of diacetyl and yeast. Basically no bitterness. Not bad at all, but I really wish Unibroue would show more diversity in their beers. 011206 Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

This beer seems to be a clone of their 10th Anniversary beer, and isn’t all that different from their La Fin Du Monde. The only difference seems to be the abv is 1% higher than the La Fin. In any event, this beer is an outstanding Belgian strong golden ale, ala Duvel, and is a truly delicious brew. This beer pours to a slightly hazy, deep golden color, with a thick, rocky, white head, that slowly fades, and a lively carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent, with lots of good pale malt aromas, paired with earthy/spicy yeast aromas, and some peppery alcohol. The palate is firm, with good pale/biscuit malt flavor, with a nice undertone of candy sugar. This beer finishes with more good pale malt, and some candy sugar sweetness up front, then ends spicy/yeasty, and warming. Fantastic aperitif/digestif beer, and a great beer to match with light to hearty fare. smartlung (154), Valrico, Florida, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2006 Pours slightly hazy light yellow color with an explosive whitish head. Scent is mostly yeasty, with apple, bread, pear, and spice. The flavor is very sweet and fruity, and ever so slightly tart. Flavors of apple, white grape, and bready malt dominate. For 10 percent, the alcohol is pretty much completely hidden. The finish is a bit drier, but not by much. Mouthfeel is pretty flat, but I’m thinking it may not be normal... the cork popped pretty loudly, and the head was almost excessive. Overall, not bad, but nothing terribly spectacular. dwh50 (46), Clay, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 27, 2006 I liked this better than La Fin Du Monde by Unibroue although very similar. I might have been influenced by the 1% higher alochol content. Cloudy yellow with a creamy white head. This is a Belgian Ale with a bit of a kick. Sweet. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 27, 2006 Yayforbeer gave me the hint these badbwoys were collecting dust up @ Total Wine. So I hopped on in the badass mobile and raced up there after work to grab the last 3. Having had the 11 a year ago, I figure the age besets well. One for now, one for later, and one for that day I know I’ll need it. Pours out into a tulip bleeding colours mixed in the debths were maudite dwells after la fin du monde claims thee. Nose hits of sweet candied malts and fruits race forward beckoning one farther into the sinful nature of those who find pleasure in creature comforts. Peeled oranges, lemons, yeast, some dark fruits are offered as if I was the God Dionysus. And fitting of the bottle size and I quote the: Three kraters do I mix for the temperate: one to health, which they empty first, the second to love and pleasure, the third to sleep. When this krater is drunk up, wise guests go home. The fourth bowl is ours no longer, but belongs to hubris, the fifth to uproar, the sixth to prancing about, the seventh to black eyes, the eighth brings the police, the ninth belongs to vomiting, and the tenth to insanity and the hurling of furniture. Please besets all when loosely translated, no man cometh uncomforted. .............Listening to Morning Child off the new 4 hero album.
