Aroma of yeast plus banana, perhaps other fruit. LIght apricot color, tiny bubbles, and a head that did not last. No lacing in the snifter. Starts with sweet, green peppery, spicy, yeastiness. None of that too strong. Yeasty apple/pear comes out, but the finish is interesting sweetness, but a very light sweetness. This is so drinkable.

Bottle: Poured a dirty and hazy beige color ale with a big white foamy head with pretty good retention. Aroma of Unibroue typical yeast with a nice spice mix. Taste is quite spicy with some pepper with a slight dry finish with some distinctive yeast, which is all very pleasant. Body is full and beer seems not to be too filtered which I appreciated. Alcohol was well hidden and overall balance was remarkable. Overall, this is a very nice strong Belgian ale and way better then expected – the bottle had been aged for close to 8 months, which may have help with the meshing of the flavours.

750 ml, golden hue, with a fairly large head. aromas of apple, banana and orange zest. very rich nose, which is probably the best part of the beer. the front of the palate is not that great. By mid-palate you get the yeasty flavour that i enjoy in belgians. finishes strong, lasting a long time although i felt the strong spice kind of ran over the fruit which i had high expectations for on the nose. overall, i was looking for the fruit to come through rather than the spice. still a very nice beer.

750 ml bottle corked and caged. Beautiful hazy orange-gold colour topped by a lasting 1/2" layer of foam. Great yeasty aroma with loads of pear and apple, baked apple, clove and allspice. Rich bready malt in the background. Not as lean as many Unibroue offerings, with is a nice change. Flavour is semi-sweet with peppery/clove notes. Big yeasty flavour over a fruity/earthy rich pale malt background. Similar to some Unibroue offerings, but I like the full wheaty body on this one. Pears and apples with some light vanilla character in back as well. Soft wheaty body, very drinkable for 10%. Finishes with spice and peaches on the back. I was really looking forward to the second glass of this, but I stupidly kicked it over on my way to the can.. stupid bladder!

Poured a cloudy dark orange color with moderate white head. Appears to be well-carbonated, as most Unibroue are. Aroma is a sweet, floral yeastiness with some spice in the background. Flavor is a meld of sweet maltiness and spicy yeast flavors. Kind of like a La Fin without the sharpness. Very nice.

Cloudy Yellow with a bubbly head. Smells of Barn and Apples. Tastes of the same with lemon, coriander and some tropical fruit. It’s hard to place the malts. They’re very pale in body. The hops are rather smooth as well. It’s distinctly unibroue though with the carbonation and all. A good Lees.

Explodes out of bottle with a 5+ finger white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Slight yeast/apple nose. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Starts sweet hints of apple, well balanced, high ABV is totally hidden. Clean finish. $6.49 for a 750ml bottle from Capital Convenience Concord, NH.
