MrEcted1 (144), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA Sep 18, 2006 I really enjoy this one for some reason. It kind of reminds me of Delirium Tremens, but a lot cleaner. Pours a hazy golden color with a huge rocky head. Nice and fruity. Fruits such as pineapple, tangerine pull through nicely. Very solid beer from Unibroue. snoot (277), Anaheim, California, USA Sep 18, 2006 Big white head on a hazy gold body. Aroma is fruity, slightly peppery, with lots of Unibroue yeast (love it or hate it...) Flavor is sweeter than I expected, the high ABV helps to cut that somewhat. Might be helped by a little cellar time so everything mellows slightly. rudolf (1734), Buffalo, New York, USA Sep 16, 2006 Hazy gold, fluffy pilow white head. Nose is yeast, fruit (pineapple, orange, some sort of berry), clove, ginger, a hint of alcohol, slight astringency. Flavor is really fruity but I can’t place it. Not quite pineapple. Clove, ginger, alcohol, yeasty goodness w. some pepper. Alcohol is apparent in the finish but not overbearing. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Sep 13, 2006 pours a hazy orange with a big frothy head. Carbonation is lively and prickly. Aroma is yeast, light fruits, and pepper/spices. taste is earthy yeast, pepper and spicy, some light fruits like pears with a tart spicy finish. Dogbrick (2813), Columbus, Ohio, USA Sep 11, 2006 This beer is a lightly hazed golden color with a thick and frothy white head with decent retention. Fair amount of lacing as well. The aroma is yeasty with some pepper and citrus. Medium-bodied with a spicy character of cloves and pepper. Some citrus, wheat and yeast flavors as well. The finish is spicy with a nice orange peel finish. Pretty good overall. rajendra82 (698), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Sep 10, 2006 The hazy, pale pour out the 750 ml. bomber was topped with a three finger thick beige head. The aroma was quite similar to most other Belgian strong pale ales from Unibroue; i.e., mostly sweet, and floral, with a touch of sweet spice. The taste was strikingly sweet, had a sharp carbonation sting, and finished up with Granny Smith apple peel tartness. I felt the overall experience was a little more tedious than in needed to be. Had there been some more subtlety in the approach, I would have enjoyed the combination of flavors much better. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Sep 10, 2006 Started flowing from the moment I popped the cork. Nice aroma of navel orange and perfumed blossoms. Sweet, spicy, and yeasty flavor with nice carbonation to cleanse the sugary finish. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Sep 9, 2006 Pours golden with a small pillowy head.Malty with fruit sweetness.Finish was clean and refreshing.
