White large fizzy head that mostly diminished, poor lacing, floaties, hazy, minimal carbonation, and a yellow hue. Clove, spicy, bananas, sweet, and malty nose. Flavor was pretty much the same as the nose with the addition of some alcohol. Tingly mouthfeel. Medium body. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 3, 2006 Huge bubbly head, nice hazy golden blonde color. Citrusy and floral aroma balanced by some hints of the standard Unibroue yeast and malts...also some hints of tropical fruits and melon. Huge, super-intense flavors carried by the alcohol... predominantly fruity/citrusy and acidic, with yeast, malts, and a wheaty breadiness... alcohol is present in the slightly hoppy finish. This beer is very crisp and drinkable despite its alcohol content. Overall not as powerful as I had hoped, but maybe this one would gain more depth and complexity over time. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 3, 2006 Poured an effervescent golden with a large fizzy/frothy white head. Strong aroma of apples, pears, cinnamon, sugar candy, molasses... very Unibroue, but nicely refreshing. Flavor is tart with some honey notes, pear juice, some light cinnamon and a dry alcoholic semi-sweet finish. Body could be a bit livelier. Very well-balanced and quite refreshing for its size, even though not bursting with complexity. ratman197 (3187), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 3, 2006 750 ml. brown Belgian bottle. Corked & caged. Cryptic date code on bottle itself. Loud pop forcefully ejects the cork. Poured out a hazy orange color, with a spotty orange creamsicle colored head. Left a slight lacing down the sides of my chalice. Aromas are of oranges, tangerines, melon, and tropical fruits, as well as sweet malts, yeasty bread, and slight whiffs of alcohol.
Flavors are tremendous in this one. Melons, pears, tropical fruit, and citrus all dance on the tongue, while the malty backbone asserts itself very well, thank you. Alcohol is present, but not overpoweringly so. Aging has turned this brute of a beer into a gentle lamb, full of flavor. Yeasty bread, malts, and brown sugar flavors in the mix as well. Rich mouthfeel, thick & creamy. Very lively on the tongue.
Finishes somewhat alcoholic, and earthy. A good triple from Unibroue. Keep up the good work. presario (2956), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 3, 2006 Sept 2006 ranks in the top third of U products (barely). To me it is not a stand out anniversary product. Sweet aroma of pears and peaches, some spice as it warms. Hazy gold with pieces of yeast. Good starting head and lasting light foam. Flavour is peaches and pears with almost no alcohol presence and too sweet. Except for the high alcohol it would make a nice session or food beer but does not seem to reach for glory. Slightly chalky finish.
