Bottle. Sweet candy sugars in the nose with a light tracing of bananas, but there appears to be some tropical fruits present. I think I smell some Kiwi. Odd. There are also some floral notes as well. A rather quaffable aroma. Moderately hazy golden honey color with a nice off-whitish head that has nice staying power and good lacing. Starts with some very sweet, sugary flavors--almost cloying. Turns toasty and very biscuity in the middle. Lots of chewy maltiness. Very smooth, pleasant, and velvety. Alcohol is non-apparent. Perhaps a bit cloying to start, but I really love cereal-like biscuitiness in my beers, and I don’t mind sweet beers. I really enjoy this a lot, but I can see how this may not appeal to everyone.

This long lost rating suddenly reappeared in a stack of scrap paper. The beer poured dark golden-straw with abundant carbonation and a thick, foamy white head. Aroma of very clean esters with elements of bananas and flowers, plus mild clove notes. Nicely fragrant with notes of lightly toasted wheat and dark honey tones. Flavor also has lots of aromatic fruit with a nice balance of sweet honey-like malt, esters, and medium phenols. Has some unmistakable alcoholic strength and moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is a little syrupy. Could be slightly drier and less plastic-phenolic, but decent nonetheless.

Cloudy yellow-orange body, thick cream head. Aroma of fermented fruits- white grape, pear, etc., with caramels, bread, and spice. Sweet body with fermented fruits (again, white grape and pear, with hints of apple), bready, strongly estery with a heavy spice character. Heavy, syrupy body with a potent alcohol presence. Very nice.

(bottle - corked & caged 750 ml) Nice golden color with a thick and puffy white head. Aroma is rich and full of yeast, malts, and some esters. The flavor is very well balanced with lots of warm yeasty and spicy notes. The finish is very warming and dry with a nice yeasty and spice aftertaste. Very well blended and very easy to drink for 10%.

bottle. pours a hazy golden body with a creamy white head. there is lots of pear, fruit, and spicy yeast in the aroma. sweet fruit flavours follow with plenty of cereal malt and alcohol warmth. this is certainly a lot better than the latest releases from the New Age Unibroue. Bought at Merchant’s Fine Wine in Dearborn.
