Another great one from Unibroue. Deep, rich fruit and spice flavor, like a port wine. Cherries, plums, raisins, cloves, cinnamon and candi sugar. Very rich, and velvety smooth.

Bottle. Nose-banana, phenols, musty. Beautiful gold body with a thick foamy head. Taste-light wheat and banana, black pepper, apple, lots of spice. Good spice and body all the way through. One of the best Unibroue products I have had in a long time.

Pours bright golden and hazy with a thin, mostly receding fluffy white head.
Taste and aroma are peppery, sweet fruity and yeasty, cotton candy, bubble gum. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy bodied, and sweet as usual from Unibroue. The fruitiness of this falls short about midway through the finish, perhaps due to the greater precence of alcohol. Very similar yeast to the Edition 2004.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 BitchesBrew (713) - Oakland, California, USA - FEB 18, 2006
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2006 [bottle, dated 1/6/06] Pours a nice hazy, golden color. Aroma is of characteristic yeast, some banana, very spicy. Fruity pear/apricot flavors with plenty of spices and some nice alcohol warmth. Keeps up with the standard of yearly releases from the brewery. Slightly peppery, warm finish. Excellent.

Bottle, generously brought out of the cellar by Vergil the beer guy at Radio Maria-- it wasn’t even listed on the bottle menu! Hazy orange gold. Fruity spicy aroma, marmalade, ginger, barley candy. Flavours of barley candy, chestnuts, marzipan, heaps of spices, cherries, golden raisins. Crazy! Thank you so much Vergil!

4.1 18 (05.13.06) Sampled at DiCarlo’s Spring beer tasting event. Bottle. Poured hazy golden yellow with medium white head. Soft carbonation. Fruity spicy aroma. Medium bodied ale that starts dry with malt, fruit (dried orange peel?), spicy (coriander?) flavors. Finished dry with spicy malt fade. Smooth and complex flavor character. Styled like a Belgium Trippel, this is an excellent drinkable ale.

Bottle. Thanks to Jonas for sharing this. Pours perfectly and I think that tastewise this beer delivers as well. This was extremely enjoyable and I’d say this was my best Unibroue so far.
