Bottle. Pours copper gold. Nose and taste of spicy alcohol, yeast, lemongrass, earth and orange peel. Medium body. Finishes with spicy alcohol bread.

Pours hazy reddish golden with a creamy offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet and spicy with almond paste, lemon zest, white pepper, cloves, liquorice root, apples, dates and hints of oxidation. Taste is sweet with bread, cloves, white pepper, yeasty esters, lemon zest, allspice, apples, pears, dates, figs and hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, round and medium bodied. Finish is sweet, tiny bitter and floral with white pepper, apples, pears and lemon zest.

En bouche, malt caramel, épais fruits noirs, toffee le tout avec un agréable profile cara fruité qui persiste voire même une pointe de sucre candi, qcq épices, pointe poivrée de date et figue sur une pointe oxydée?

Hazy copper color, smallish off-white head. Sweet, malty, spicy, alcohol scent. Spicy, lactic, alcohol taste. Spicy alcohol aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, sort of harsh finish. Medium bitterness.

30 år surt. Pours cloudy mahogany wrh a small off white head. Aroma is malty caramel bready spicy and a bit fruity. Flavor is sweet malty and spicy in front adding more peppery bitter and phenolic character in middle sistaining it to the end with nice fruity touch. Finishes dry malty and fruity with a great pungent touch.

Bottle at "30 år av surt". Golden/amber beer, lasting off-white head. Sweetish yeasty aroma, fruity notes, marcipan. Marcipan flavor, yeasty, fruity, sweetish, some malt, roasted notes. A bit too sweet.

Thanks to pushkinwow for popping this at the Ottawa tasting. Pours a dark brown with small white top. Aroma is special malts, yeast and grapes. Taste again is filled with grape, fig and malts. A little sweet but nicely complex.

light hazy amber, apricots, caramel, apples, but flavors don’t stick out that much. Fairly rounded. Decent.

Bottle shared by TimE. Glowing amber-orange, nice head. Oxidized, estery nose, spice, ginger, orange, honey, grains. Very fizzy, with alcohol and some metals, peach, esters, ginger. Nice, but the 2004 blew it away.

750ml corked bottle pours a dirty amber color with a 2 finger light beige head that retains well and eventually settles to some spotted lacing. Aroma is dark fruits and some light roasty bitterness with some light hops bitterness and malty sweetness and yeasty finish. Modest carbonation and medium to heavy body with a little alcohol provide a tingling warming sensation on the palate. A very nice example of the style.
