3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Fred82 (1758) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 2, 2009
750ml bottle. Caramel color, small caramel head. Aroma feels a tiny bit infected. Sweet brown sugar, fruity peach or pears. Taste is quite alcoholic. Small bitterness on the finish. Not sure this beer was top shape. Lots of carbonation. Became really warm and it was warming up.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ughsmash (5628) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 31, 2009
750mL bottle. Poured crystal-clear autumny orange with a tall cap of eggshell head. The aroma picked up crisp light and medium-skinned fruits paired with prickly vinous character and lots of dusty yeast.. just a hint of banana and looming warmth beneath. The flavor had tangy lighter fruits throughout with brown sugar and dark fruits at the core.. very spicy and very warm on the edges with peppery yeast, mixed fruits, and alcohol warmth riding through the long finish. Heavier-bodied and well-carbonated on the palate as expected.. quite syrupy at times.. I enjoyed how it warmed up the belly. Another solid offering.
5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 luminara (4) - Corvallis, Oregon, USA - MAY 29, 2009 does not count
Found at Corvallis Brewing Supply. Amazing brew - flavors of honey and raspberry with a slight Belgian yeastiness that is not at all overdone. This goes straight to the top of my favorites list - up with Corsendonk Pale and Schell Einbecker Doppelbock (MN). I could drink this all night...
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 17thfloor (2265) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2009
750 Bottle enjoyed 5.28.09. Pours a murky dull orange amber with a tall thick foamy off-white frothy head. Strong aroma of sweet oxidized malt and fruity Unibroue yeast, toasty and soapy. Flavor is sweet and rich but aged nicely, quite nutty, caramel, faintly spicy. Medium/full bodied with sharp tightly packed medium sized soda carbonation.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 curly (2201) - Seattle (Newcastle), Washington, USA - MAY 21, 2009
Pours hazy orange and has a beige head that lasts. Aroma is grape, and other ripe fruits with tart. Sweet initially then gives way to a slight sour hint, then moving to the roast bitter finish. Very smooth and creamy
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 southamptonsam (101) - New York, USA - MAY 8, 2009
Lovely amber color with a fluffy head with staying power. Had this beer a while ago and it didn’t stand out. This one is floral light and fruity without any off notes.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Immy (1942) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - MAY 8, 2009
Daytona 500 tasting. C&C 750. Dark amber with red highlights, big off white head. Typical dusty Unibroue yeasty nose, some tropical fruit and brown sugar. Flavor is much the same, adding a bit of nuttiness. Solid, as usual.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Snot19kilo (103) - Oakwood, Illinois, USA - MAY 6, 2009
Pours amber with flacks of yeast, and a fat cream white head.
Aroma is yeast with a slight metallic smell. Flavor is metallic, yeast and very bitter with a lot of sugar and strong alcohol finish. not a very good beer. would not buy again, but would drink if offered.
