Jun 28, 2008 Sampled during Cellar’s Wine & Spirits Wednesday evening tasting via Unibroue representative. Last of the Unibroues of the evening. Pours a hazy copper amber brew with a thick off-white head that has some nice retention and lacing. Aroma of yeast and roasted dark malt, a touch of chocolate and some dark fruit. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with a sweet character of roasted malt, dark fruit and berries with some flowery hops and yeast. Taste is quite sweet, with an aftertaste of yeast, brown sugar and some roasted dark malt.

Jun 27, 2008 Bottle as shown. Pours a coppepr amber color with a large frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is a pungent caramel malt, raisin and licorice. Good lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet caramel and a nice spicy finish that hides the alcohol well. A very good belgian strong ale from Unibroue.

Jun 26, 2008 [Bottle] Pours dark hazy orange with a decent off-white head. Aroma is bready and sweet; really a lot more yeast heavy than I had expected. Taste is semi-sweet with a lot of yeast again, some malt, and light fruitiness. Medium-thin mouthfeel. A yeast dominant, pretty boring beer.

Jun 26, 2008 Very light brown pour with a thin head. Sweet fruity nose with brown sugar and grape fruit. Alcohol in the taste as well as dark fruits and a soda like citrus.

Jun 26, 2008 Sweet malt hop aroma with flowers. Murky light brown colour with good head and lacing. Sweet malt flavour with chocolate. Smooth palate. Very complex flavour. But very drinkable.

Pours dark with a nice foamy head. Aroma is dark fruits, raisins, yeast, and slight alcohol. Flavor is dark fruits and sweet malts. Sweet finish. Nice balanced carbonation with a pleasant mouthfeel. Another great Belgian brew from Unibroue.
