(Bottle) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, complex, slightly vinous nose with apricots, banana, vanilla, caramel and yeast. Fruity, malty taste with dried fruit, apricots, fresh ginger, liquorice, anis, cola and distinct notes of ginger-bread cake. Malty, chewy, fiery finish, sweetish but not as sweet as I feared. Complex and balanced. Tasty and nice. Alcohol not as evident as suspected, but coming through with a kick after a while. Very nice beer.

750ml bottle. Split with kmoonlegend. Pours a gorgeous deep hazy orange-brown murk. Nose is spicy hops, yeast, some fruit. Mouth is same with a bread-like texture. Nearly no indication of alcohol, amazing for how strong it is. It is easily recognized as a Unibroue due to its spritzer palate.

The pour is deep straw colored, with a hazy hue. The nose is yeast, fruits, and slightly hoppy. The flavor is fruits, hops, and a slight alcohol warming. A pleasant beer, but I expected more from an anniversary brew.

Rated in Los Angeles while on conference for the SCTE ET. Rated from 750ml bottle obtained from Whole Foods Westwood. Rated in nasty hotel bar glass. Pours slightly more golden than the younger Unibroue 15. Slightly thinner head than 15, with slightly less opaqueness. Aroma is more balanced than 15, bready, malty, but still has lingering rubber bands. Damn. Flavour is slightly less spicy, but overall good.

Bottle. Orange-brown pour with a bubbly beige head. Funky, yeasty aroma. Sweet, some hops, dark fruit, bready. Funkiness in the aroma also, slightly sweet, finish is bubbly but smooth. I like this beer, and it’s definitely going to age well.

Bottled poured in a trappist glass. U16 pours murky orange with a large fluffy white head that settles a bit but doesn’t disappear. It has a huge nose of fruit, noticably banana, apple and apricot. Spicy hops balance the sweet fruit aroma nicely. A touch of alcohol balances the whole bouquet. The body is crisp and has a cider-like quality to it. The alcohol warms you up right away but doesn’t bully the balanced hop and fruit flavor. This is a great beer.

Creme denso, mas pouco consistente. Aroma agradável de mel, banana, lúpulo e leve floral. Álcool evidente, mas bem inserido no conjunto. Presença marcante de cravo, final longo e doce.

Wham, bam, thank you mam! Like a Belgian row home brick slammed against your head, and you ask for more. A little hint of the dried fruits (prune/raisin) and sweetness. Pours with a medium head, definitely apple cider in color and clarity. Hearty beer, and good for the winter night. Nice malt character, adding to the dried fruits, and a buzz on the tongue. Burns a bit going down. Interesting beer... (Bottle Pour 1/4/2007)
