Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits as well as some fresh fruit, on a malty back ground. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, alcohol, and fresh peaches.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of joergen. Hazy, amber golden with an off-white head leaving some laces. Aroma of yeast and fruit. Full-bodied, sweetish caramel and plenty of brown sugar. Appears a little tired. I really wish that Unibroue would renew themselves instead of putting out a seemingly endless row of yeasty, over carbonated and uninspired Belgian strongs. This is becoming a little tedious. 280907

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk, at home with ronnie. Aroma is sweet fruity esters, yeasty, bubblegum and heaty banana character. Taste is similar, yeasty fruity esters everywhere, alcohol well hidden.

Bottled. Warm hazy amber appearance with rich white foam. Ever-present Unibroue yeast in the aroma with notes of spices, caramel, white bread, nuts, berries and orange-peels. Full and warming flavour of yeast, bread, fudge, oranges, licorice and alcohol. Long warming and yeasty finish of caramel, anise, yeast and orange-peels.

(bottle): Pours a reddish brownish color, smooth head, off-white, somewhat lasting. Very sugary flowery aroma, some alcohol. Sweet, refreshing, flowery taste. Some waming from the alcohol. Very sweet. Good as it warms up more.

A beautiful beer with a wonderful explosion of flavour. Malty, yeasty, very complex. A foamy head, would probably age well for an even better taste. Highly recommended, but hard to come by...

(Bottle) Pours light copper amber. Sweet, sugary, malty, yeasty and perfume like aroma with tones of overripe dark fruits, fresher fruit like pears, oranges and banana, clove, vanilla, mint, white pepper, mile nutmeg and other spices, mild caramel, almond/almond paste, honey, toast, herbs, light coriander and flowers. Extremely complex, layer upon layer nose. Malty and sweet flavour with tones fruits, berries, grapes and spices. Light bitter, some light acid notes and a lingering tone of fruits, tart berries and spices in the aftertaste. Champagne-ish, fizzy carbonation. Syrupy and lightly raw mouthfeel. Too young and alcohol-ish. The fantastic aroma and the elegant vinous flavour is the upside of this beer but the too notable raw sugary sweetness is a problem.

Explodes out of bottle and will pour a five+ finger cream head that takes forever to fade leaving a good lace. Cloudy amber color. Slight raisin nose. Strong carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Flavor is honey, caramel, some spiciness but high ABV is hidden. Best by December 2009, 750ml bottle $8.99 from Capitol Convenience Concord, NH.
