| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 31, 2007 Bottle... Cloudy, deep golden ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, white head. Fruits smell of plums and dates and dark berries... slight hint of traopical fruits and pear. Sweet fruit palate with moderate bitterness and light spice. Medium to full-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Lengthy, lightly sweet, mildly bitter, barely sour finish. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Pours a clear copper color with a thin white head. Aroma is robustly spicy - clove, allspice, a little pepper, coriander, maybe anise, and of course, the Unibroue yeast. A good dose of alcohol on the nose. Well-carbonated. The taste begins with a sweet fruity yeastiness. The finish gives a fourish of the guild of spices encountered in the aroma. Really expected the alcohol to be more apparent in the taste due to the aroma. This isn’t beyond Unibroue’s typical offering, but the spice component here is a little different. radagast83 (1289), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2007 Beer pours a dark amber color, thin white head if poured correctly (one glass I poured had a huge head). Aroma is spicy, with a nice touch of what makes most Belgians good. Flavor was just about the same, with the high alcohol content pretty well masked for it being 10%. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 18, 2007 Bottle. Medium sized semi-fizzy head that mostly diminished, fair amount of lacing, hazy, visible carbonation, and a chestnut brown hue. Nose was malty, spicy, some clove notes, alcohol, and dark fruit. Ditto for the flavor, but without any clove notes. Mouthfeel was smooth with a slight tinglyness and a warming sensation. Medium body. A sipping beer. Nothing too out of the norm for this one from Unibroue. dyetube (402), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 17, 2007 This beer pours a deep amber color with a very thin white head. Fruity sweet aroma reminiscent of a belgian abbey. Flavors are plentiful and complex, very sweet like candy with a dryness that compliments this. This is a very well crafted brew! Cheers! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 11, 2007 Columbia, SC - Green’s Discount Beverages - 750 ml bottle - cellared in the store. Nice dark chestnut brown pour with a luxurious, creamy, khaki colored head. Fruity aroma with hints of lemon joy, sweet cake mix and yeast. Tart flavor, pick up some candied sugar, bubble gum, brief wisp of chocolate, some faint citrusy notes. Alcohol presence hidden well - will feel it when I stand up I’m sure. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. Very good Belgian, not disapppinted - just expected a but more oomph and complexity. Nejhleader (928), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Pours amber with a large, lacy head. The beer is hazy and cloudy, very very nice appearance. Smells sweet and spicy at the same time. Taste is dominated up front by candy sugar, but the complex spice characteristics come through as the beer lingers on your tongue. It’s smooth, it’s complex, it’s just wonderful
