Pours a cloudy amber-orange-brown type color, rather generous off-white to tan colored initial head, that thins quickly to a thin covering, continually replenished with a swirl due to lots of forced carbonation? The aroma was coriander, orange peels, some caramel, some lemon zest, lots of the U yeast, witbier-like on the aroma in many ways, floral notes coming out at higher temperatures with some rousing. The flavor followed suit, but too much spicing going on, almost a cinnamon type extreme along with the coriander and light pepper, others likely from the highly phenolic yeast / fermentation temperatures. Mouthfeel is airy creamy, lots of carbonation, perhaps too much. Another ok Belgian production from the U, but nothing impressive. Too spicey, cloyingly spicey with higher temperatures, losing points as I drink.

(bottle) Hazy dark caramel body with a medium to big tan head that quickly recedes. Sweet, yeasty aroma with a lot going on - fruit (banana, dark fruit, among others), spices, vanilla, wine. The flavor is very sweet with lots of alcohol - a warming sensation on the tongue. Finish is a little acidic. Medium-to-full body with lots of carbonation and leaves a sticky mouthfeel. There are a lot of good things going on here - some subtler than others - but something seems a little unbalanced or unrealized; I can’t quite put my finger one it - maybe too sweet? Still very good.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 STEPHENDR (478) - California, USA - AUG 14, 2007

Pours golden with some haziness. The notes of yeast show with lemon. The palate shows sweet malts which get very complex. The finish was long and the abv was in play.

25.4 oz bottle. Cloudy cider with a thin ivory head. Yeasty honey with light floral. Prickly carb with candied lemon peel and apricot. Melt-away toffee leaves hints of almonds. Smooth, pink grapefruit drying. Fun to drink; an easy 10%.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Glouglouburp (4558) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 12, 2007
Cloudy golden copper topped by an initially large off-white head. Strong aroma of spicy candies. Signature Unibroue yeast, lots of biscuit malts and a lively carbonation support a superb body, full and smooth with a dessert Mousse-like mouthfeel. Rather sweet without being sugary. By Unibroue standard the beer is unusually spicy. The candies flavour, spices and biscuit malts all come together and create some kind of variation on the barley cadies and gingerbread man flavours. Lots of floral hops. Some dry coniferous in the finish. The alcohol is exceptionally well-hidden. In small tasting samples this was easily a 4.0 but this rating follows my first 750ml by myself and I must admit that by the end of the bottle the spicy candies flavour was getting a bit tiresome. I think this has aging potential as the sweet spicy candies should evolve and settle into something quite nice. However this is a very nice beer right now. 16 is not too young for me. Taken out of context this could really get me into troubles.

Thin dense head of fine bubbles. Great carbonation. Sweet and fruity aroma with plenty of malts, spices, yeast and a bit of honey. Color is a cloudy orange brown. Wow, I like these unibroue flavor. Nice alcohol presece and warming. Lots of intermingling flavors. Spices, yeast, soft malts, light metallc overtones and a bit of raisin. Damn good but predicable for Unibroue. FInishes spicy and warming. Good stuff.

Pours to a glowing dark amber body with a thin fizzy white head. The aroma is muddled mandarin oranges, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. Nicely blended. The flavor is spice muddled oranges. Cinnamon, mace, orange rind, nutmeg, pepper, and earthy yeasty malts. The palate hides the 10% alcohol extremely well. Sweet, medium bodied, and carbonated.
