nick76 (2636), Tampa, Florida, USA May 16, 2007 Updated: Jun 2, 2007The aroma is fruity, sweet, earthy (with peat) herbal, and most of all yeasty. The appearance is copper/brown with an nice head. The flavor is not as sweet as I was expecting but is just like the aroma. Also it has quite a cork flavor in the finish. The palate is OK but approaching thin. Overall a well made beer but I am not in love with it. Slang is right, it’s a rather average Unibroue (which by the way isn’t a bad thing at all). Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA May 16, 2007 Mighty Fine Strong beer. its very complex with everything from earth tones, fruits floral and slightly piney flavors. the head pour on and stays there. it looks very complex. Well worth you time. slang (393), Columbia, South Carolina, USA May 15, 2007 750. $7/8 Honestly I had this like three nights ago, but fuckit, it didn’t inspire me enough to rate it then. Average Unibroue, nothing new thus nothing special. Still a damn good beer, but come on, these guys are forming their own style by now. Try to impress me next year..... FezMonkey (268), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 14, 2007 Amber color with a huge lasting head. Aroma of bananas, malt, and clove. Bubblegumand fruit flavors. alcoholis fairly well hidden. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA May 14, 2007 Opague Orange/Red Color with Sandy Head. Bready Spice and Yeast Aroma. Thin Bodied and Very Carbonated. Candy Sugar, Sugared Fruit..Dark Bread, Rye Notes..Sweet Dry Aftertaste..Light Body and Carbonation Make it Easy to Enjoy This in the Summer. .Nice Brew. DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA May 13, 2007 Dark orange-amber color with a slight haziness. Very active white head that dissipates rapidly. Sweet sugary aroma with spices, yeast, and a bit of maltiness. Flavors were floral, yeasty, fruity (cherry, date), very sugary and sweet with a bit of spiciness and black pepper. Heavily carbonated and champagne-like. Soft, sugary smooth palate with a bit of a sticky, alcoholic finish. Very good stuff. Oakes (8080), gone rambling, Vietnam May 13, 2007 Hazy dark ruby colour. Big dusty Unibroue yeast aroma - toasty, plums, walnuts, foot. Sweet, almost fresh flavour - date, brown sugar character. Flowery esters, light plum, prune leading to a very sticky, thick finish. An amalgam of Unibroues past. MasterBaiter (1), USA does not count May 12, 2007 Brussels lace clung to the side of the glass well after I finished drinking this honey, amber beer. Warm bread with clove honey smell. The tight carbonation gives this a nice refreshing fizz. Slight spice is noted as an aftertaste.
