Pours hazy golden with a large frothy tan colored head. Lemon, pear and clove in the aroma. Taste is initially a bit sour but quickly becomes heavy sweet and light bitter. Medium to full bodied. Syrupy. Alcoholic finish. (Bottle, courtesy of tarjei 12.12.2009)

750ml brown bottle, corked. Hazy honey gold colour. Head is creamy, dense, some good lacing left behind. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavour is sweet, honey malts, some yeast spiciness. Some lingering Uni house yeast dries out the finish. Medium to high carbonation, medium body. No sign of that 10% alcohol, quite tasty, though somehow familiar.

Picked this baby up to go from Churchill’s Pub ($12). Was surprised to see this still around. Pours reddish brown with one finger of creamy off-white head. Aroma of yeast as is typical of most all Unibroue beers along with some lovely bready malts, caramel, and dark fruit (cherry). Flavors of sweet caramel and fruits -- cherry, raisin, pear. Lightly sweet and dry finish, good carbonation, concealed alcohol. Not sure how this was when it was released, but it’s quite good after two years. (187, 479)

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2009 Bottle from late 2007 opened October 2009. Thick reddish-brown with a solid thick head. Aroma has some alcohol in it, and shows it’s a little of course, but also has a very nice dark cherry touch. In some ways I think the aging has really worked well for this one, and I haven’t thought the other Anniversary beers were so impressive in that respect. Sweet, with a tangy yeast and alcohol laced taste. Soft bubbly mouthfeel. Quite an awesome beer.

Bottle. Poured a clear reddish orange amber with a lasting light brown head. Aroma was full of fruits with a bit of citrus and a bit of tartness. Flavor was a little darker with some caramel notes that balanced nicely with the fruity flavors. There was a bit of an alcohol bite towards the finish.

Aroma was a combination of bread and molasses. Appearance was orange/red with huge fluffy off-white head. Taste was sweet and finished almost sour.

Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color, and topped by a decent off-white head. Some alcohol, caramel and dried fruits, fresh fruits and cellar in the nose. The flavor has a nice bitterness in addition to the caramel, dried and fresh fruits and cellar also found in the aroma, but the alcohol is more like a pleasant warmth in the mouth than a real flavor. Full-bodied and effervescent. Bitter finish with some cellar. A nice beer, blending flavors in a lovely way. 090724
