Vintage 2009 bottle. Awesome beer. Very sweet aroma and flavor, but don’t let this discourage you. Very easy to drink and ABV is undetectable. Very impressed with this one.

15-MAR-2013, bottle @Sonni, @Ulkløbben tasting. Clear amber with lasting off-white head. Sweet aroma of bready malt, fruit, dried fruit, caramel, nuts. Very barley wine-like. Quite hoppy with some grape fruit. Not really a belgian strong ale or is it just age showing? Very fine brew.

Süß-hefiger, leicht honigartiger Beginn, starke Karbonisierung. Süßer werdend, elicht Alkoholnoten. Hefig, süß-würzig. 11/9/10/10/9/10

Hazy amber beer, fluffy white head. Light palate, slightly soft. Creamy soft malt, a little dry. Yields to pleasant fruits, mild orange and a trace of pear. Finishes soft and dry with a carbonated sting. A little yeast in there as well. Pleasant enough if a little dry.

Pours a deep amber colour, clear with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is fruity with coriander spice, lemon peel and orange scents, and oak notes. Taste is quite sweet but not overwhelming, with no significant bitterness aside from some undertones. Full body, creamy-smooth mouth feel and softer carbonation. Amazingly good beer.

(750ml bottle thanks to JJFoodie) cloudy medium orange, ring of tan bubbles. Nose of sherry/port, rich, dark fruits like dates and raisins, light alcohol. Taste is oddly acidic, golden raisins, seems like alcohol Heat but almost more like chipotle/ancho chilies, interesting and well carbonated.

Bottle 750 ml. Pours dark golden with a medium beige head. Some lacing. Aroma of candy sugar, dark fruits, spices, porto and caramel. Taste of dark fruits, caramel and porto. A little acidity. Medium to full body and alcohol is well hidden. Probably a year or two past is prime, but still a very good and complex beer.

Bottle was from 2007. The aroma was rich and complex: porto, madere, malt and some roasted bread. Had lost the specific aroma of Unibroue’s yeast. The taste did not totally lived up to the aroma though. Full bodied beer, some warming alcohol. Bouteille de 2007. La bière a bien vieilli. L’arôme est riche et complexe: porto, madere, malt et pain grillé. Perd l’arôme de levure spécifique à Unibroue. Le goût, cependnat, n’est pas à la hauteur de l’arôme. La bière est ronde en bouche. Goût d’alcool ressenti.

Bottle. Pours copper gold. Nose and taste of spicy alcohol, yeast, lemongrass, earth and orange peel. Medium body. Finishes with spicy alcohol bread.

Pours hazy reddish golden with a creamy offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet and spicy with almond paste, lemon zest, white pepper, cloves, liquorice root, apples, dates and hints of oxidation. Taste is sweet with bread, cloves, white pepper, yeasty esters, lemon zest, allspice, apples, pears, dates, figs and hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, round and medium bodied. Finish is sweet, tiny bitter and floral with white pepper, apples, pears and lemon zest.
