Ungstrup (11354), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 2, 2007 Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits as well as some fresh fruit, on a malty back ground. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, alcohol, and fresh peaches. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden May 30, 2008 Bottled. Cloudy amber, rich lively head. Almondy nose with herbal spices. Sweet and caramelly, lively and sparkling with notes of pears and fruit salad. Grassy finish with some coriander. A compleax and arousing beer. Unibroue’s releases may be rather similar, but they’re still top class! Papsoe (10285), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 2, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of joergen. Hazy, amber golden with an off-white head leaving some laces. Aroma of yeast and fruit. Full-bodied, sweetish caramel and plenty of brown sugar. Appears a little tired. I really wish that Unibroue would renew themselves instead of putting out a seemingly endless row of yeasty, over carbonated and uninspired Belgian strongs. This is becoming a little tedious. 280907 Oakes (6973), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 13, 2007 Hazy dark ruby colour. Big dusty Unibroue yeast aroma - toasty, plums, walnuts, foot. Sweet, almost fresh flavour - date, brown sugar character. Flowery esters, light plum, prune leading to a very sticky, thick finish. An amalgam of Unibroues past. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 5, 2007 75 cL bottle, thanks to joergen. Pours hazy orange with a white head leaving nice curtains. Dried roasted malt and slight dried fruit and a slight malty aroma. Flavour is mellow, slight sweet but most of all spiced with a spice I cannot make out. Not too good to be honest.
