| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 16, 2007 Dark brown with a huge, lacey off-white head. Spicey nose, relatively sweet, with notes of anise and black pepper. Flavor is fairly sweet, with caramel, a relatively strong dry bitterness, and a good deal of spice--licorice, black pepper. Nice palate, a touch too much effervescene. Vertical Bacon Strips (924), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Poured out a nice bright, slightly hazy orange going light brown brew with a huge (the Uni standard) light tan crown that dissapointingly quickly died to just above a skim. I did leave all the sediment at the bottom of the bottle for the last couple of sips. The spice in the aroma was much softer than I had expected. This was followed by a dry dull banana taste, wheat and very muted but dull chocolate(???). The taste was nothing out of the ordinary: spicy yeast, musty, earthy, slight sourness. Finally after 20 minuits I noticed a very very faint alcohol taste. Comes across medium bodied, very creamy with the middle to end seeming more creamy and a stiff bitter and spicy finish. The bottom of the bottle with all its sludgy goodness was awsome. This brew was quite dissapointing. I enjoyed it more near room temperature. 3 more in the cellar for the years to come. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 7, 2007 750 pours a cloudy orange amber with a yellow beige head that hangs on. the nose is quite yeasty, yogurt, canned pineapple, and inviting. The flavor is full on Belgian strong ale with all the flavors rather pronounced - ale fruitiness, sweetness, stale hops (in a good way), some funkiness, very little burn for the AVB, overall very tasty. The palate is rather rich and fizzy cleansing. Darn good. rmussman (906), California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Pours a hazy dark orange copper with a light bubbly off white head. Aroma is malty vanilla,spice clove, some alc. fruitiness.
Flavour was sweet alc., strong malt profile, honey, molasses, some peppery spice and clove. Fruit profile increases as the brew warms with a nice alc. apricot flavour developing.
Overall a very good beer, but still a standard Unibroue beer. Not a lot to suggest a special anniversary ale per say. Still a very well made brew. Taverner (892), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Bottle from Draegers - Blackhawk. Pours dark copper with white head. Aroma of guava and candi sugar. Flavor is sweet - way too sweet. My first comment was "tastes like maple syrup!" The aroma is tinny but hoppy. The flavor is all sugar though. ogglethorp (891), Ohio, USA
