Thin frothy head of offwhite bubbles in my chalice. Reduces to a bevy of carbonation hotspots. Rich roasty and malty aroma with some yeast, raisins, spices and caramel malts. Very tempting. Color is a hazy chocolate brown. Dark malts and maple syrup. Thick and chewey palate with a big alcohol kick. Sweetness abounds with a bit of lingering late spice and yeast. Quite the pleasure to drink. Bit of a tarty lump remaining in my throat. Finishes dry and pasty with lingering spices. A slightly above average for Unibroue but still in their typical style.

Dark amber/brown in color with a very nice rocky, creamy tan head. Body is hazy. Aroma was terrific. Mainly sweet malts, caramel, some sweet orange peels, and yeast. I thought the flavor was a bit of a let down. I was really excited after the appearance and aroma, but the flavor was overly alcoholic. This brew was smooth going down, but the alcohol lingers a long time. Overall, a little disappointing.

Dark brown with a medium tanish head. Lots of sediment noced in my glass. Smells heavy on the rasins and dates with molasses and alcohol.Taste is sweet to start at first and ends with a heavy alcohol feel. Very full flavored and a bit bitter at the end.Good carbonation but a little bit of a bitter finish.A good beer but not the best Unibroue has of this style.

Bottle 75cl. at home.
Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, caramel, perfume, fruity, pumpkin, moderate to light light heavy yeasty, spicy, wood, peppery, alcohol, ginger notes,. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, with a spicy ginger - peppery spike. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [150908]

Attractive reddish brown out of the caged cork bottle with a lasting biege foamy head. Nicely carbonated. Nose of noticable alcohol and dark fruits. This is a big beer and the 10% gets more pronounced as it warms. Lots of raisen, fig, and dark cherries with light molassess, oak, and spice. Very easy sipping beer.

Reddish brown with a large foamy head. Aroma of fruit and spice. Flavor has the fruit and spice but also some vanilla bourbon notes along with an oak taste. Very nice finish. Very drinkable with no hint of alcohol until you stand up.

Color is a deep solid brown with a hint of orange. Carbonation is very good with a big tight off white head. Aroma is a fruity Belgian yeast scent with a slight sour note. Taste is fruity and twangy. It starts with a medium body that goes down fizzy and foamy. Finish comes in bright with a funky sour taste that is followed up with a spicy cinnamon and clove like taste. After taste is a lingering of this spicy taste with a sweet alcohol feel. Overall I don’t think this is one of Unibroues better showings, its just a bit too funky
