Orange brown cloudy color. Yeasty and bready aroma. Biscuity flavor with some citrus and coriander. Some molasses and grape as well.

This was superb. 750 mL bottle. Pours a cloudy bright brown (almost golden) with a large, off-white head. Nose is very spicy with some cloves, orange peel, and cinnamon. Taste is fairly sweet with lots of brown sugar, cloves, yeast, and earthiness in the flavor. I agree that there could be some banana in there. The dark fruits and spice hide the alcohol well. Nicely balanced- very refined. Toss in the yeast sediment at the bottom and it muddles some of the complex flavors but still great.

Had the pleasure of trying this beer at a North Carolina Beer Festival. This is my favorite Belgian strong ale, thus far. Loads of dark fruits- a very rich flavor that lingers on your palate. Loved it.

Mmmmm, belgian strong ale. Another great BSA from Unibroue. This one tastes heavily of wood, though not much vanilla that usually comes with that woody goodness which was a lovely exclusion for me. Tons of dark fruits, and lots of cloves and banana tastes in this one, like a dark banana brew that is astringently alcoholic. Awesome.

0.75 l bottle. Hazy mahagony color with creamy peige head. Perfumed and spicy aroma with pepper, clove, coriander, cardamon, licorice, orange peel, cork and hints of chocolate. Very spicy flavor with pepper, clove, orange, licorice, tart fruitiness, chocolate and dry woody yeastiness. Highly carbonated, too gassy. This is also too spicy, maybe this needs aging. Overall this is fairly rich and satisfying brew.

75 cl bottle, thanks ekstedt. Brown, cloudy, with a frothy, mostly lasting, off-white head leavin a fair amount of lacing. Burnt notes, but also grass, leather, damp cellar and tree. Moderately sweet with light bitterness. Medium bodied, somewhat oily with soft carbonation.

Bottle (75 cl) from Systembolaget. Murky brown with medium off-white head. Strange fruity aroma with notes of wood, coconut and vanilla. Well balanced with a dry finish.
