Pours out a dark brown color with a large head. aroma was sweet and yeasty. flavor was similar with a nice spice to it and the alcohol was apparent but not as much as i had expected. this is a nice offering from unibroue

Poured an opaque deep brown with huge, long lasting head. spicy, fruity odor. Taste was robust. My tongue picked up fruits and spices, heavy on the citrus. I was a little disappointed with this one to be honest. Far too much citrus taste for my liking. Also the high alcohol volume was not well masked. I prefer it when my high alcohol content beers actually succeed in masking the alcohol taste.

Poured from the bottle. Nice dark brown color. Smell is spicy, some dark fruit as well, maybe prunes. Taste was big dark fruit, raisin, spice, some tannic bitterness, like green grape peel. This one seemed very well made, but I just wasn’t enjoying it after about 2 oz’s. the tannic bitterness and yeast flavor just kept building in my mouth until I didn’t want to drink it anymore. I don’t know what else to say about this one.

Bottle: Pours a murky burgundy with a thick and huge tan head. Aroma has some brown sugar, and lots of winter spices like spruce, clove, cardamom and some fig notes. Frothy and velvety feel. Spicy flavor throughout the whole palate, with a hint of roast. Brown suagr, clove, cinnamon and lots of peppery character come through. There’s also a pine suggestion (spruce-like) with a touch of roasted Belgian malt. Prolonged peppery spiciness in the finish. Complex and interesting.

25.4 oz bottle. Woody brown with a smooth beige head. Nose is yeasty cola and toffee; some spice. Sharp, sudsy carb; medium light, kind of oily. Taste begins with caramel, clove and citrus peel. Increasing bitter yeast, alcohol and plastic. Something about Unibroue’s turns me off.

Bottle at the Pints for Pets Brewfest. Cloudy light brown with a rich beige head. Very light spicy and bready aroma. Strong clove and spicy taste.

Aroma is spicy with notes of tobacco, dark fruit, wood, and yeast. Deep brown amber hue with a large off-white head that left great lace. Flavor is spicy dark fruit, tobacco and wood. Medium bodied and lively. Thick cloying finish. Good but I did not like the cloying spice tobacco character.

750ml bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester. Pours a murky dark brown, nearly opaque body with a good inch of light tan head. Smells fruity with chocolate, date, and a fair bit of wood/smoke. Tastes like a fine mix of chocolate, date, wood, smoke, hints of caramel. Complex and extremely well-balanced. Medium to full in body. A beer that feels full and yet goes down very easily. Tasty and more drinkable than expected. Another top notch limited edition beer from Unibroue!
