I had this at Global Brew. Pours brown with a tan head. Taste dark fruits, Carmel, Belgian yeast. I thought this was pretty good. I would drink this again.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle sampled at Classic City Brew Fest 2014. Pours a slightly hazy copper with small bubbly beige head. Aroma is spicy yeast with a hint of booze, lots of dark fruit, plums and sweet malt. Taste is more toward cherry with a big caramel malt background and peppery esters. No real sense of the booze, light carbonation. A nice one off from a solid brewery.

Medium tan head. Berries, grassy nose. Some vanilla. Quite sour initially, some bitterness, some sweetness. Alcohol not terribly present, medium body. Really interesting and complex, very well balanced.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear brown pour with not too much of a white head. Herby, raisin, spicy, boozy scent. Thick in the mouth. Lots going on here. Lots of spices, some fruity tartness. Definitely can taste the alcohol. Taste like a good Belgian Extra Strong Dark Ale, which is really impressive as it’s brewed right here in Canada. This is up there with some Trappist stuff I’ve had.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Chestnut body with a finely bubbled, tan head. The aroma is mostly French oak, with some sweet malt and dark fruit. The flavor is sweet, with some oak, dark fruit, and spices. Not bad but the oak is a little too prominent for my tastes.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2014 Not much in the way of carbonation. A 2013 bottle, could use a little aging. Dark fruits and pleasant yeast, can?t lose, but nothing incredible
