750 ml bottle at Uber Tavern in Seattle. Pour is dark brown amber with an off-white head. Aroma of the signature Unibroue yeast, and not really all that much else. Maybe some apple and pear fruitiness. Taste is somewhat sour with maltiness a very heavy maltiness. The yeast again comes through very strong in the taste. The fruit is more pronounced in the flavor, and adds considerably to the flavor profile. Initially, I commented that this reminded me of Trois Pistoles, though as it warmed and the fruit came out, I don’t think this is true.

Bottle - 750ml. Pours a dark brown muddy body with a decent beige frothy head. Wonderful malty/hoppy aroma with yeasty, plummy and spicy (black pepper, clove) hints. Awesome, well balanced vineous taste that hides alcohol almost perfectly. Notes of plum, ginger, and typical Unibroue yeast. Ends with a long, warming finish. After years of wasted time with macro-like (not to say Sleeman-like) beers, we need more of that kind of stuff from Unibroue. Bravo!

Brown color with a large head. Nice tobacco aroma. Lots more tobacco, black pepper and some spiciness in the taste. Yeasty and bready as well. Very nice.

750 Bottle Courtesy of Paul. Sweet candi nose. Spice and wood. Ruby haze color. Intense creative yeast flavors. Spices explode forward. Clove and nutmeg perhaps. Its an extreme beer for sure. Unique and worth exploring.

Bottled. Looks like I just got done firing off some nasty liquid shits into the toilet. The kind where it streams out and turn the whole bowl brown. Head is a creamy looking light brown covering the top of this mess. Aroma is spiced, herbal, and dry. Flavor is heavily spiced and has some winter spices that stick out. Gingerschnap cookies which fade to a sweeter fruit with those spices still very forceful. Brown sugar and good carbonation almost a little too fizzy.

750 mL bottle purchased at BevMo in Vacaville. Cork opens with a thunderous pop. Unique, herbal aroma is present. I get some spiciness...almost some celery salt or dill or something along those lines at first. Some of the classic Unibroue yeasts create some estery notes in the aroma. There is a light sweetness, that is muffin like. A really unique aroma on this one...I can’t pin it down. Moderately hazy amber color with some brown hues. A fluffy tan head is present. Nice lacing is left. Very fruity start with some prunes and grapes. Becomes more sticky and malty with a great deal of brown sugar flavors and a lot of molasses. Quite sticky. There is a bit of a dry bitterness towards the finish and the ethanol is warming and a bit too noticeable. With all that said, this would make a killer winter warmer with it’s spiciness and stickiness. On a hot summer day, it doesn’t seem as appropriate.
