ross (1559), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Jun 6, 2008 I do not hesitate to buy a new bottle from these guys. Especially not if it has a cork in it. And this is really no exception to that rule. One of the best beers of the evening when Daniel was here. Very typcial (not a bad thing) of their beers, full of carbonation, light orange color, but the best thing about this one is the very fruity yet strong hop presence which makes the beer highly drinkable, even for 10%. This one is killer, and way better than 16. Very good stuff, I need to get more than 1 more bottle of this stuff. Very drinkable. WIll try this one again when I am more sober.
greedycheater (80), Oklahoma, USA Oct 5, 2008 Chocolate brown, hazy/murky pour from 750ml bottle. Huge, off white head taking its time to dissipate. Aroma of caramel and some flower, sweet with a bitter finish. A malty concoction with a Belgian influence. General_Gao (2568), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Oct 4, 2008 Bottle shared by firmbuttstone. Poured a murky brown orange color with a light tan head. Lots of spices (esp clove), pastry, vanilla, and flowery hop in the aroma. There was also a whiff of rubber. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with mild bitterness and moderate to high carbonation. Citrus and tar graced the flavor and made for a nice combination there was also some flowery hops, light alcohol, and a dash of powdered sugar. Delicious. jimhilt (1424), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Oct 3, 2008 Would pour, if you don’t pour very slowly, a 5+ finger light tan thick whip cream head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Hazy amber color. Good carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Sweet malty nose. Flavor is sweet plums, caramel and raisins. Some yeastiness in finish. High ABV is hidden. $8.60 for a 750ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma. pilsnerrogge (1609), Finspång, Sweden Oct 3, 2008 Bottled: Pours dark reddish brown with a big, thick head. Aroma has yeast, coriander, orange peels, nutmeg and black currants. Flavour is sweet and spicy and vinous. The finish is alcohol bitter and warming. PMgep (6), Lund, Sweden does not count Oct 1, 2008 Very nice aroma, with thick complex, but subtle smell. The appearance is wonderful, beautiful colour, nice foam and a very beautiful bottle. The taste is complex, with many flavours but none as strong so it takes out another. Great beer!
