GG (1609), NorCal, California, USA May 8, 2009 Another ennjoyable beer from Unibroue, although I think that this might be the weakest beer from their repetoire or perhaps just the one I enjoyed the least. The beer from the 750ml bottle pours out cloudy orangeish-yellow color with a huge 3" head. I had to put the brakes on the pour as it was going to easily overflow my Maudite glass. Aromas are light fruity malts, orange zest, ginger, and corriander really show up nicely in the nose. Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, but not overpowering. Flavors are light wheat, corriander, citrus, but lots of Unibroue’s house yeast. Beer has a slight acidic bite to it. Overall, not bad. DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2009 Aroma is a faint yeast with some coriander, a little citrus zest as well. The color is a nice wheaty color, and large foamy head. The flavor is a nice wheaty, yeasty, and some nice spice and citrus. The feel is quite carbonated, and with a dry body. TheGrandMaster (1845), Auckland, New Zealand May 7, 2009 Bottle in NZ. Pours a cloudy dark gold with a large frothy head. A surprisingly weak aroma, faint yeast and spice. Dry and wheaty palate, again surprisingly light on the flavour. Some peppery spice and yeast, light citrus. Quite carbonated. Disappointing for me. m4rest88 (216), Beverly Hills, California, USA May 4, 2009 Pours with a dark yellow which is pretty darn hazy. The hue sits below a medium sized white head that is mostly diminishing.
Aroma is of spices - lots of spices - coriander to be more specific. Lots of grain, and yeast in the nose as well. Some massage oil aroma in the beer as well - weird I know.
Spicy/Watery Flavor - with a lot of citrus.
Medium mouthfeel, with a good amount of carbonation. fluffy (229), Florida, USA May 3, 2009 pours dark yellow with a bubbly champagne head. aroma is is buttery and yeasty. flavor is heavy on the citrus, spices and doughiness. very tangy aftertaste, strong with orange flavor. a nice wheat beer with a lot more up front flavors that most wits. djd07 (721), Houston, Texas, USA May 1, 2009 2005 bottle. Pours a hazy orange golden with a medium frothy white head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is a fruity malt with floral and coriander. Thin mouthfeel, sweet floral taste with a crisp finish. Easy to drink, a very good wit from Unibroue. cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada Apr 23, 2009 750ml bottle
5.0% ABV
I tried this beer on September 5, 2008 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a hazy golden colour, with ample effervescence, and a white head. The aroma was wheat malt, with citrusy tones. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, and mildy carbonated. The flavour was wheat, sweet fruit tones such as pear, and a little bit of the famed Unibroue yeast flavour. angrypirate06 (678), Texas, USA Apr 21, 2009 06 bottle. Hazy golden color with a nice rocky whitish head. Aroma of cinnamon, clove, coriander, orange and lemon. Flavor was citrus, wheat, clove. Pleasant blend of spice. Fizzy mouth.
