UPDATED: JAN 27, 2003 A paler version of Hoegaarden. Great white head like a pillow. Smooth and clean for a White. Even the yeast was mild. Can drink this for a while.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2008 I love this beer. The nose is very citrusy and spicy. The head is large, white and mostly lasting. Good lacing. The spicy, citrusy flavor is great. Chock full of yeast. The finish is long, dry and tart. Excellent Summer beer. One of my very favorite wits.

Clear pale straw with medium size short lasting yellow white head. Mild soapy hops aroma. Some faint fruity nectar on swirling the glass and as it warms. Medium light body. Short sharp carbonated bitter/sour burst start. Yeasty and mild grainy sour middle. Light fruity sweet and bitter finish and aftertaste. Belgian whites are not my favorite typle of belgian but this one was OK.

en fut (on draft): Surprisingly, I had not rated this beer, one of my favorites for Summer quaffing. Having on draft for the first time it seemed lighter, maybe slightly creamier than in the bottle. A thick, white, and lasting head tops a light golden, slightly cloudy beer. A spicy start, slightly effervescent. Refreshing coriander and orangey citrus. Dry, slightly lemon-tart finish. Lighter than many of the more recently produced witbiers.

i’ve had a few belgian style beers (even ones that are actually from belgium) and this one is an excellent example of the genre. very flavorful and smooth. i dunno, i think my tastes they are a changing....i had one of these again and thought, why was i so smitten? perhaps it’s because i’ve had more samples of the style, i dunno. still a great beer, of course, but not necessarily my all time fav as it used to be.

Like everyone else says, the bitter citrus note is definately there. Decent head retention, decent lacing, but I prefer the look of a darker beer. Good sharp taste with a very clean finish. A top beer in my books!

Pale yellow colour. Very cloudy. Big, fluffy head. Light spicy, citrus-aroma. Fizzy citrus-flavour. Thin and watery. A disappointment.

Good head.Spritzy carbonation.Very light and refreshing. Not very sweet or spicey for a Wit beer.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2003 Sweet aroma, vanilla, slight citrus, spice and wheat. Pale hazy hue. Clean white head which hangs around throughout the whole brew. Lots of carbonation, almost too much at first. Peppery, crisp, sour, nothing spectacular. Kinda disappointed, Unibroue is a great brewery but this is just an average brew.

Medium gold color, small head. Apples and vanilla aroma. Malty and very sweet. Some spiciness, not very hoppy. More reminiscent of a cider than a beer. Kind of applish and citrusy. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly spicy. Tasty, but not very beer-like.
