Citrus and light spice notes in the flavor. The wheat & extra yeast really help to round out the body without sacrificing drinkability or making it any less refreshing. Probably the best Belgian Witbier Iíve had yet - not sure how much that really says though. Great with or without an orange slice on a hot day.

Iím not a fan of the style, but decided to expand my horizons. Pale yellow color with a big white head. Aroma is fruit, spice, yeast. Taste is orange, pear, clove, sweet malt. Itís not bad, but Iím not really planning to try it again.

Had a pint- well, twenty ounces - in Old Montreal last week. Was amazed, to say the least, when I avoid Canadian beers at home in Vermont in favor for local craft brews. But, When in Rome...."
Wow! This is light years ahead of the Molsons and Labatts that I drank in the 80ís and early 90ís before the microbrewery movement in the US put us ahead of our pals to the north, in my opinion. But enough history...to the Beer!
A large cloudy glass of golden beer with a small, frothy head was brought to the table as I was waiting for my Poutine topped with Smoked Meat (again when in Rome). There was a fruity aroma - definitely orange - with a similar taste. Gotta say that it was one of the better beers Iíve had in a while and appreciated the long finish. My wife, who is not a beer drinker, was very impressed!
Best beer Iíve ever had? Not that sure. Yet, this certainly convinced me that our Canadian friends realized loud and clear that American (micro)brewers moved American beer ahead of theirís and Unibroue has been fighting back hard for their countryís honor. Iíll be looking for this at my favorite beer places along with local and brews that Iíve never tried. Hope to go back to Montreal soon and will purchase some to bring back over the border if need be.

Pours a hazy yellow with good head. Aroma is fruity and citrusy. Taste is more citrus and fruit but not too sweet, if at all. Aftertaste is fruity and slightly short. Very drinkable and enjoyable!

On Tap. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. White bread, light bubblegum. Lemon aroma. Light body, medium carbonation. Average, and a little thin. Wheat, yeast, lemon... Standard fare, but fine.

This was poured into a mug since it is a witbier and not weizen because weizens are for German styled weizen beers, not Belgian witbiers.
Anyways, hereís the rest.
The appearance was an extremely nice looking hazy pale golden yellow with a decent one finger to one and a half finger white foamy head that dissipates within about less than a minute. There isnít much lacing.
The smell has a super nice blend of coriander to orange peel leading to a nice sweet lemon-like lingering aroma just rolling all around underneath my nose.
The taste was pretty sweet through the orange but gently lets in the coriander to add a very nice spicy element to the flavor. Thereís a slight refreshing sweet to spicy aftertaste that ends up leading to a slight coriander semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation is right on par for the style and for me.
Overall, in my opinion, this was a very nicely done witbier well worthy of having again and would love to have it again with a nice fresh seafood dish. I do have to admit, I am a bit surprised to not find as much yeasty/breadiness to this one, but honestly, I think Iím okay with that.

Draft: Pours a beautiful orangish-yellow with a medium white head. Aromas are orange and citrus fruits with some yeast and earthiness. The flavor is nice a clean citrus with some earthy spice. Coriander and cloves. Very nice summer drinker, with a full body and complex taste.
