gilvanblight (390), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Jul 20, 2008 Hazy yellow pour, not much head. Somehwat citrusy scent. Tates like a Witbier. Citrusy taste. Oh wait it is a witbeir (didn’t realize that when I ordered) Nice mix of orange and coreander in the flavour. A good wit. berkshirejohn (1759), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Jul 19, 2008 341ml bottle bought in Montreal. Cloudy amber with a dense wite head; wheat and yeast aromas; slightly citrus flavour with a floury body; dry finish. A reasonable example of a Belgian white. MrBunn (1518), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle. Pour is a full-headed yellow with aromas of malt and light spices. Flavor is fairly bland... a bit of a malt presence and some coriander? spicing with some light fruit and a bit of yeastiness. ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jul 15, 2008 Updated: Jul 21, 2008Appearance: Pours a clear, effervescent, golden body with a full, foamy, white head.
Smell: Aroma of pale malt, wheat, and a blend of spices expertly selected by an international committee.
Taste: Pale malts give way to a tangy wheatiness and a light sugary sweetness. Tablespoon of lemon juice stirred in. Half a teaspoon of apple juice. A fair amount of coriander and pepper rolling around in here. Minor taste of banana. Slight yeastiness and taste of orange peel on the drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation.
Drinkability: A fine, summertime brew that made watching professional movers destroy a tenant’s furniture somewhat satisfying. Cybercat (776), Georgia, USA Jul 12, 2008 This pours a thick honey-golden, cloudy and almost opaque. The strong aroma is malty and wheaty, very appetizing. Flavor is delicious, mainly malty with considerable hints of fruit and wheat. Texture is smooth and refreshing. This is a great summer beer. Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 12, 2008 Cloudy, very pale yellow, with a sizey white head. Very fruiyt aroma, with a lot of apple and pear, mixed with some white wine. Some milky notes, too. Tart at first, with a refreshing white wine thing going on. Some mild fruity sweetness in the finish. Very enjoyable. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Jul 6, 2008 Pours a golden, light amber color with a white head. Aroma is of lemon, citrus, coriander, wheat, and a hint of banana. Flavor is pretty strong of the lemon, banana, and coriander. Finishes slightly dry with a decent amount of carbonation. Decent WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours a cloudy orangish color. Moderate white head that dissipates quickly. Wonderfully sweet aroma, similar to condensed milk, with hints of spice and yeast. Flavor is wheat, orange and coriander. Light-bodied and very dry. A bit over-carbonated. I’m a big fan of Unibroue and, while this isn’t their best effort, it is still a very good, drinkable beer.
