DeeBee21 (44), NH, New Hampshire, USA Aug 26, 2009 Pours golden from the bottle, white fizzy head. I think its a little dead. I’ve had this many of times and the store i bought it from was Sweltering HOT... so i think it might be a bit tampered! Aroma is fruity but more like a slightly burnt apple pie crust, hints of spice. Flavor is very similar, dried apples and bananas at the front lots of carbonation. bit of booziness. Overall I usually, LOVE this beer and it was one of my first loves of craft beers and belgian styles but this bottle must of been way to hot as it was stored...still drinkable but just not as I remembered. HughConway (364), Alabama, USA Aug 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours yellow with white head. Fruit and yeast on the nose, yeast on the tongue, a bit harsh. VitaminR (421), Colorado, USA Aug 20, 2009 Lemon wheat nose with slight clove notes. Slightly hazy gold, massive foamy head. Mellow biscuit sweetness, slight peppery bitterness. Big snappy carbonation, medium body, crisp and spicy finish. Really pleasant beer, easy drinking, but flirts with big complexity. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Aug 19, 2009 Pours a somewhat hazy golden yellow with very nice bright white head. Nose of banana clove and yeast. Flavor is just lightly yeasty with small citrusy undertones. Slightly sweet. Pretty good for a white actually drowland (1345), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 16, 2009 Had this awhile back and didn’t write down anything except "Another solid brew from Unibroue" and the numbers. Good stuff. Hopper (271), San Antonio, Texas, USA Aug 14, 2009 A hazy golden beer with a 2 finger disappearing head. Aroma of fruit(peach), & funk. Taste was fruity, spicy, & taste like an average Belgian beer, with a carbonated mouthfeel. jfenglish (198), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 9, 2009 Bottle. Hottest day of the summer at 96 today, outside enjoying my Unibroue. Pours cloudy, dark yellow. Aroma of banana and wheat. First sip is highly carbonated- a bit too much actually. Getting past the carbonation is a round, mellow wheat flavor. Leaves some sweetness at the end. Nothing wrong with this one- solid, basic, but unremarkable compared to the other offerings from Unibroue. decimator (41), Ontario, Canada Aug 8, 2009 750ml bottle poured into pint glass. Pours a hazy yellow with a big frothy head that disappears in a couple minutes. Smells of wheat, yeast, bananas, hint of spices. Tastes malty, sweet, some spiciness and a hint of citrus. Lots of carbonation, creamy & sticky and sometimes it’s just a tad watery. Its not too strong and not too heavy. It goes down easy. Overall it’s a pretty good Witbier. Not as spicy as a Hoeggarden which may make this one more appealing to some.
