cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Aug 7, 2007 Very nice Witbier, another solid effort by Unibroue. Cloudy golden orange pour with a three finger head that settles over time. Ample strings of lacing. Hearty citrus scent with the noticeable yeast, and some spicy banana also pulls through creating a wonderful aroma. Easy and clean on the palate, very light and lively with no lingering aftertaste. Mellow flavor very typical of a well crafted Wit. Fruity with some doughy malt and subtle yeast flavor. Rather tame and well enjoyed. This is a nice one but would be rather difficult to distinguish among the other standards in this style. Nothing surprising and it delivers a great aroma and pleasant mild taste. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Aug 6, 2007 A very good wit. Bright yellow pour with a frothy white head. Spun sugar, bananas, lemon, and wheat in the nose. Sweet, wheaty taste with oranges, lemon, bubblegum, and a meringue-like sweetness. Sticky but refreshing. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Aug 3, 2007 Straw, hazy with a huge, white head. The aroma is refreshing with notes of coriander, citrus, wheat and sweetness - and the same goes for the flavour. It’s quenching, refreshing and sweetish - quite harmonic - tasted on the first hot day (April 25. 2007). 2034 jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Jul 25, 2007 Pours hazy golden with a frothy/rocky white head. Aromas of lemon zest, some light herbal hops, and just a hint of sugary sweetness. Flavor is fairly bland with some light lemon zest, lots of yeast, a slight sweetness, and a lot of wheat that really contributes more to body than flavor. Average palate for a wit, medium/light body, light effervescence, a very rounded mouth-feel, just not much of a finish. Not a whole lot going on, but still a well balanced, easy drinker. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Jul 24, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a hazy yellow color with a dense white head. Light coriander aroma, with notes of citrus and wheat in the flavor. Seemed a tad overcarbonated, but had a pretty good mouthfeel nevertheless. A pretty decent wit overall. b33r (363), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jul 20, 2007 Cloudy yellow color with small white head. Aroma and flavor just typical of wits. Very smooth and easy to drink. Pretty good, nothing special though. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Jul 20, 2007 A Mes rate:
Bottle from Quaff. Pale dirty and cloudy yellow colour with a rapidly diminishing head. Sprtzy aroma of lemon and obvious coriander. Very lemony flavour with some more coriander and not mush else. Finishes with some vanilla and almost leaves a sting on the tongue because of the carb. Another dull wit. badlizard (2324), Berkeley, California, USA Jul 16, 2007 750 mL bottle. Hazy yellow with fluffy white head. Aroma of orange and cloves. Bright lively palate. Tangy orange taste with a spicey dry finish.
