Ron (1000), Rochester, New York, USA Jun 21, 2007 One bottle from BOTW 6/21/07. Pours a hazy goden color. Large white foamy head that stayed around awhile. Aroma of yeast and a slight hint of ripe fruit sweetness. Flavor is very carbonated and gives off a very grainy yeasty character with some lemon. Nice refreshing beer. ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 20, 2007 Bottle, 33 cl. Cloudy pale straw yellow, medium soapy head. Quite weak and neutral malt aroma with strong citric notes and some yeast and clove. Medium bodied, a bit fizzy mouthfeel, nicely balanced. Boring but quite refreshing. Beerlando (2280), Orlando, Florida, USA Jun 18, 2007 Updated: Jun 19, 2007First taste 6/18/07. Tried it with spicy Cal-Mex food. Cloudy pale straw color with a medium white head that fades. Aroma is typical Witbier yeast, citrus, and coriander. Flavor is the same, but more prominent. Very nice body. Smooth and refreshing. Clean finish. A little sweet for my tastes, but that is common in the style. One of the better Witbiers I have tried. paganunca (14), Chile Jun 17, 2007 Su amargor era suave, ademas de solo tener 5º de alcohol... al ser refermentada en la botella se pueden ver los sedimentos ademas de ese color blanco algo turbio, un sabor y aroma un poco citrico, pero agradable, ideal para tomarse fria en un dia de calor. tagz (334), USA Jun 12, 2007 Updated: Aug 23, 2007(12. oz bottle) standard white, yellow hue, although a little more orange than the victory we sampled side by side. soft yeast aroma with noticable spicey element (clove). tight carbonation that leaves plenty of room for flavor. nice full wheat flavor and a dry finish. will definitely come back to this one in the future. it was noticably more dynamic than the whirlbit and the carbonation is perfect - balances the taste well. clean but not watery. embrace the unibrow.
re-rate: i’ve tried a fair range of witbiers and this one still stands out at the top. subtle spices, great balance, but remains complex. it doesn’t venture to far out of the box but it masters the style. really a fantastic wit. ksigty (107), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA Jun 1, 2007 For a white ale, this beer is near the top. The aroma is a little soft but it shouldn’t be strong. The appearance is characteristic of a white ale. The flavor was not as strong as I expected but it was smooth and had a mellow aftertaste. There are a few better white ales out there but this one should not be overlooked. jalichio999 (502), Brazil Jun 1, 2007 Updated: Jul 29, 2008Bottle. Muddy golden coloration, with a white head. Watery. Light taste and aroma. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA May 25, 2007 Pours a cloudy straw with a large, frothy white head. The aroma is the typical orange and coriander notes found in most wits, but it also has a sweetness to the nose that hints at bubble gum and a faint cotton candy. The mouthfeel is light and thin with lively carbonation. Oranges, bananas and wheat... the flavor is sweet, clean and fruity with a light wheat finish. As a fan of the style, I was impressed. An excellent wit.
