josuemucho (86), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 28, 2007 Not too crazy over Unibroue beers. Poured a gold lager color. Aroma was citrusy. I detected grapefruit, hint of banana. Tasted lager-ish ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Mar 27, 2007 Bottle. Murky wit/ yellow color with a frothy white head. Doughy aroma with banana notes. Malty flavor with some spice and bananas. Very strong yeast profile. RaphaelN (195), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Mar 22, 2007 Updated: Apr 9, 2007Bottle at The Sapphire Room. Poured a hazy beige with a frothy white head. Mouthfeel was fairly thick. Nose consisted of apricots and raisins. Taste was of apricots and dried plums, with a lingering aftertaste of aprictos and banana. Well bodied brew from Unibroue. Will drink again. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 20, 2007 Hazy orange colour with a white head. Wheaty, citric aroma with notes of clove. Light sweet and vague fruity flavor with a citric and light picy finish. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 18, 2007 Bottle. Head was large frothy white and was mostly diminishing. Some lacing in glass. Body was light cloudy and the color was golden. Aroma was wheat, citrus, clove, coriander, banana, caramel. Light to medium bodied and an average carbonation. Flavor was light sweet and some acidic. Light sweet finish. french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Mar 12, 2007 Drank in a footted pilsner glass. Hazy golden poor with a thin off-white head. Aromas are of citrus, coriander, floral hops, sweet corn and that classic Unibroue yeast is NOT present. Very light creamy mouthfeel, very good bitterness with a dry finish. Taste is lightly honey but is not sweet at all. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA Mar 11, 2007 12 oz. bottle, best by 1/25/08: This still has a year to go for the BBD, so I was surprised that it gushed everywhere upon opening. Just a fizzy bug though, as it smells and tastes wonderful. The wit pours a hazy lemon with a caramel core. The classic Unibroue profile is at work in the nose - sweet caramel and layers of butterscotch and citrus esthers. Low carbonation works well with the malty body. Lots of honeyed wheat and fruity esthers in the body. Yum. Poperinge (359), Cowtown, Alberta, Canada Mar 10, 2007 I always thought this beer was pretty watery for a wit but they do manage to make a flavourful wit.
