RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Aug 14, 2006 Draft. Aroma: Lemon, spiciness, Unibroue yeast, slight banana. Mellow aroma. Appearance: Dark yellow and slightly hazed. Head was small, white, and fleeting. Not much lacing. Flavor: Lots of tart lemon, pepperiness, slight banana. Tartness is the only thing that really stands out. Pretty dull. Palate: Light bodied and watery. High carbonation. Finish was a little wet. Overall: This is the least impressive Unibroue beer I’ve had thus far. Pretty boring overall. BeerHeadBobby (142), In Hiding.., Florida, USA Aug 14, 2006 Bottle - Pours a dark hazy yellow with a small white head.. no lacing - Nose is citrus and yeast - Mouth is rather bubbly in the begining but once it sits it does better.. Tastes of spices and orange with a very bread like finish.. i have to say im not too impressed .. as i am a big Unibroue fan this one didnt stand out.. and actually a tad watery.. 13/20 ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Aug 8, 2006 Malty aroma with hints of orange peel. Cloudy dark yellow with a white head. Not much lace. Fruit loop flavor. Thirst quenching on a hot day atop a hot roof top deck. Well done; more flavor and smoother than many Belgian whites. RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Aug 8, 2006 Very nice. Subtle spicing with a hint of citrus peel. Well balanced and just delicious. Another winner from unibroue. fcmag82 (2), USA does not count Aug 8, 2006 wonderful if belgian or compagnard versions are too spicy for you...just the right sweetness and just the right amount of citrus/coriander....go for it. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Aug 5, 2006 This is one of my favorite Unibroue beers. It is a very well balanced and flavorful beer - slightly spicy, slightly citrusy, slightly yeasty, slightly everthing a good Belgian White should be. Everything is well banaced. Flavors become more complex as it warms.
12 oz bottle, $$4.30 at the Winking Lizard Tavern (Crosswoods). scania (184), Malmö, Sweden Aug 4, 2006 Bottle. Hazy yellow with white head. Aroma of yeast and coriander. Citrus, banana and pear in flavor. Less spciy than other Belgian style witbiers. Too yeasty to be refreshing CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain Jul 23, 2006 A fine beer, I suppose. Nothing terribly notable. Refreshing, yet somewhat stale in taste. Understated, but lacking that punch that nice wits have.
