re-rate: i’ve tried a fair range of witbiers and this one still stands out at the top. subtle spices, great balance, but remains complex. it doesn’t venture to far out of the box but it masters the style. really a fantastic wit. An absolutely marvelous example of the style, with a delightful almost lambic tartness, this hazy, golden brew delivers a plethora of spice to the palate, goes down clean and refreshing, and is the perfect beer for almost any occasion, but particularly those hot summer nights spent sitting outdoors by a barbecue. ksigty (107), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

The aroma is a little soft but it shouldn’t be strong. The appearance is characteristic of a white ale. The flavor was not as strong as I expected but it was smooth and had a mellow aftertaste. There are a few better white ales out there but this one should not be overlooked. jimmiecat (1), Canada does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 24, 2007 wow. I’m surprised this beer is so hated! It’s meant to be cloudy (it’s a wietbier "from" Belgium). Great with lime. Has a fruity smell. My new favorite summer beer! Nice and light...refreshing. More tasty than traditional wheat ales. pacaus (49), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA

The taste is very nice with a strong wheat taste and subtle hints of fruit and spice. TheHulk (156), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

The first taste is very bold but it’s far from overpowering and is very balanced and mellows out quite nicely, very clean. degbert (12), Bee Caves, Texas, USA

Light, yeasty, citrusy aroma gives way to a medium, slightly sweet taste; the phenols are well controlled. The head is about what you’d expect; overall, a good example of a white ale. I’d call it one of my desert island beers.
