KingofCastle (187), London, Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2007 750 mL bottle: Over-rated beer. Wicked carbonation, lemon flavour, thin head which goes down fast. Very yeasty. For me, this beer just lacks real body, either in upfront taste, mouthfeel or finish. I’d drink Blue Moon any day over this, but try Erdinger or Hacker-Pschorr for real German classics loaded with way more flavour & character.
Naka (428), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2008 Pours a mildly hazy straw golden color with a thick white fizzy head that dies down after a few seconds, but doesn’t disappear completely. Aroma of apples, citrus, and a bitey yeast, all with a hint of bitter. The flavor is a pretty decent wit, but the aroma has me believing the flavor would be much stronger. Wheat with some definite coriander and lemony citrus notes and clove. Pretty dry in the finish. Not quite as much of the Belgian yeast character as I was looking for. Decent, but not as good as some of their other offerings. smjohnst (161), , Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2008 I wasn’t too crazy about this one. It had too much of a bitter lemony flavor to it for me. Just average elihapa (318), Connecticut, USA Oct 7, 2008 Pours a light golden color with an energetic white head. Aroma of yeasts, hops, wheat and a touch of citrus. Overall, this is not a bad Belgian white, but something is “empty” about the balance of spices and wheat present in this brew. lumpsowers (87), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 29, 2008 Cloudy straw color, no head, light lacing. Citrus and grass aroma. Sweet, thick mouth, fizzy on the tongue, bitter floral hops quickly balanced by thick malt after. Tasty brew, almost like a tripel. I liked this one quite a bit. dmtroyer (370), Harrisonburg, Virginia, USA Sep 23, 2008 750ml. A pale golden yellow beer with an extra active white head. Nose is fairly muted, if I stick my nose in the bottle I get strong bread yeasts with a spritz of lemon and lime. Body is much more exciting, semi-sweet lemon and lime show up again, this time complimented by some nice citrus fruit and subtle spice. The palate is coated by extremely carbonated, light and almost thin body... just a bit on the thin side otherwise it would have gotten a 5 on the palate. A very solid, lighter witbier than I can see myself coming back to at the height of next summer.
