WesKBob (161), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours a cloudy orangish color. Moderate white head that dissipates quickly. Wonderfully sweet aroma, similar to condensed milk, with hints of spice and yeast. Flavor is wheat, orange and coriander. Light-bodied and very dry. A bit over-carbonated. I’m a big fan of Unibroue and, while this isn’t their best effort, it is still a very good, drinkable beer.
lumpsowers (87), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 29, 2008 Cloudy straw color, no head, light lacing. Citrus and grass aroma. Sweet, thick mouth, fizzy on the tongue, bitter floral hops quickly balanced by thick malt after. Tasty brew, almost like a tripel. I liked this one quite a bit. dmtroyer (360), Harrisonburg, Virginia, USA Sep 23, 2008 750ml. A pale golden yellow beer with an extra active white head. Nose is fairly muted, if I stick my nose in the bottle I get strong bread yeasts with a spritz of lemon and lime. Body is much more exciting, semi-sweet lemon and lime show up again, this time complimented by some nice citrus fruit and subtle spice. The palate is coated by extremely carbonated, light and almost thin body... just a bit on the thin side otherwise it would have gotten a 5 on the palate. A very solid, lighter witbier than I can see myself coming back to at the height of next summer. mabel (1662), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 21, 2008 [1657-20080903] Tap. Wheat and fruity yeast aroma has some grains. Hazy, light orange brown body with a long-lasting foamy white head. Fruity wheat flavour has some banana ’esters’ and some grainy yeast. Medium body. It’s nearly inconceivable that a beer made only 500km away from my home has made the journey of 4300km - nearly nine times that distance - to get to Skagway ON TAP, but is only really available back home in the liquor store in bottles. I figure if it took me a week and 4700km of flying and cruising to find all this out, then this is definitely the sample I’m going to rate... and even here it’s still enjoyable.
(@ Skagway brewpub; Skagway, AK) ucusty (1201), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 20, 2008 Light gold pour with fluffy off white head and drippy lace. Citrus and coriander on the nose. Similar flavor. Thin bodied, with the hot summer season dying down, I drank this at the time I presume Strangebrewer (39), Chatham, Ontario, Canada Sep 19, 2008 Pours cloudy pale yellow, thin head, yeasty lemon scent. Rotten taste, I’ve tried it 3 times and shame on me for thinking it would get better. It’s tastes like a belgian wheat beer, not my style, but I’ve tasted better beer of this style. I won’t drink it again.
