3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml corked and caged bottle. Blind witbier tasting at brenn79ís house. Aroma is lemony, coriander, honey-ish. Pale yellow color with a quick-collapsing white head. Taste is spicy, a bit sour in finish. I rated this the third best of the night (out of 9 beers blind-tasted).

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours hazy golden, finger white head, thin lacing. Wheat, big Belgian yeast esters up front on the aroma, noble hop and a bit of bubble gum as well. Taste wheat malt, lot of Belgian yeast "funk" bubble gum, fruity esters and noble hops all blend nicely. Light body, high carbonation, spicy. Overall, good, nice and refreshing, complex flavor, I will be drinking more of this.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Champagne-like spritzy head. Fruity, peppery, sweet aroma. Citrus, peppery flavor; with earthy Belgian yeast and some sweet malt.
Adding the yeast sediment gave it some subtle banana-ish esters. Think I prefer it that way.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I poured a 12oz bottle into a goblet. It had "best before" date of 6/20/14. I paid $4 for the bottle ($0.33 per ounce).
Appearance: Bright, pale yellow body with fine carbonation visible rising up the side. Opaque from the sediment. Forms an average size, snowy white, foamy head which mostly fizzles away and doesnít leave much lacing.
Smell: Strong orange citrus aroma plus distinct dry spice. A clean, floral bouquet.
Taste: If you need a good example of a solid Belgian White (or witbier) style, Unibroue Blanche de Chambly is it. This is one of those rare beers that exemplifies the by-the-book style and does so really well. A tasty palate thatís really easy to drink - whatís not to like?
Much like the nose, the palette here is primarily orange. Not orange juice, but orange peel essence coupled with a subtle coriander spice (I should say so considering itís brewed with both). Thereís a hint of lemon flavor and a touch of tartness/dry bitterness at the apex of the swig. The finish is an even stronger orange/lemon citrusy flavor with the faintest sour/tart sensation. Thereís a hint of starch, too, but it finishes clean. A fun drinking experience every time.
Drinkability: Itís beers like Unibroue Blanche de Chambly that prove you donít have to have the word "summer" slapped on a label to be refreshing. The orange character here is tasty, but easy on the tongue so itís not too intense. Though the carbonation is high, the actual bubbles are so fine that they almost massage the tongue. At 5% ABV itís got a lot of flavor for what is technically a "light" beer. I could see this being highly sessionable in hot weather.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The aroma of this beer is subtle yet reminiscent of coriander and soured white grapes, and the appearance is gorgeous because of all its components: a large white head, an opaque golden color, and a cloudy nature. The taste is mildly sour (that hints towards fruit rather than just general beer sourness) and mildly sweet, and the palate combines an average carbonation, medium body, slick texture, and an abrupt finish.
