| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 31, 2010 12 oz bottle from a Trappist glass. Pours dark as night, a very small white head. Strong aroma of spice and raisin. Taste is somewhat complex. Starts with a quick bitterness. Finishes with fruity/spice notes and that typical Unibroue yeast taste that I have come to love. A pretty solid Beligan style dark ale. At 6.2 % alcohol, the EtOH is well hidden behind the other tastes. There is an odd note in the middle that tastes almost like tobacco smoke, which was slightly unpleasant, but the beer overall was a good one. matt7215 (1011), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 21, 2010 Dark brown, almost black. Strong fruity aroma, with a roasted or burnt tinge. Head is almost non existent after thirty seconds. Only moderately carbonated. Taste is surprisingly light considering the strong aroma. Hints of fruit. Leaves a mild, almost witbier aftertaste. There is a twinge of raisiny malt and a hint of coconut or amaretto. MaltDawg (982), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 7, 2010 From a 12 oz bottle into a snifter. Pours with an inch of bubbly head which quickly dissipates; no lacing at all. Smell is of grapes, as in grape soda. Mouthfeel is very thin and fizzy. Way too much carbonation. Taste is also very much like grape soda with some funky spices that I can’t put my finger on. Not a big fan of this one. Too bad, it’s the first beer of Unibrou’s that I don’t really like.
