| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 28, 2009 355ml bottle served in a Trappist glass. Hazy dark brown pour topped by a diminishing head. Plum, apple, raisin, bubblegum, and spice on the nose. Flavor is spicy, yeasty, apple, and bubblegum. Reminds me of most of the other Unibroue beers. Thin bodied with intense carbonation. Everything was going quite well until I tasted it. I don’t know if it is the combination of spices they use or their yeast but most Unibroue beers taste very similar to me. Not terrible but not exactly knock out stuff. Hbuck72 (124), Chickasha, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 19, 2009 Pours a nice darm brown with a large amount of fluffy beige head, no lacing. The aroma is of dark malt and sweet fermeted fruits. Nice complex flavor of fruit, malts and yeast.
Very good beer, not quite as good as Unibroue Maudite or Trois Pistoles, but still very good. Diogène (584), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2009 341ml bottle. Dark brown with an average frothy mocha head with medium retention and a lot of lacing. Aroma is apple pie, roasted malt, sweet malt and some yeast. Flavour is fruity, with apples, raisins, brown sugar, and very little hops. With the name you could expect a stout, but is is nothing close to it. Its the first time I tried this one in ore than a year and it is much better then what I remembered. A good introduction craft-beer for someone used to macros. KyotoLefty (1512), Kyoto, Japan
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2009 Very dark brown with some red. Very tall tan head. Sweet, dark malt aroma, Belgian yeast, dark fruits, plums, roasted biscuits. Good roasted malt flavor. Medium sweetness. A touch of coffee, caramel. Very clean, slightly burnt, dry. Decent alcohol but mild, basically a very dry, nice brune. Well made and much better than the average Abbey beers. DerWeg (783), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
