Commercial Description:
Chambly Noire is a smooth and creamy dark beer with a beige and persistent head. Its torrefaction aromas and slight bitterness enable it to perfectly accompany various fish dishes, strong cheeses and chocolate desserts.

Bottle. Dark brown, orangish highlights, soft tan head with medium retention. Nose is caramel with belgian spice notes. Bready, a little sour yeast, cloves, a bit tart. Medium light mouthfeel. Overall good taste and smell but I’d like a little more body, reminds me of weizenbock which isn’t my favorite style.

750ml bottle from BevMo! Mission Valley. Pours a deep coffee brown with a thin beige head. Nose of toasted malts, toffee, and some dark fruits. Flavor was roasty with a slightly sweet finish.

This beer pour smooth with a nice head, but its aroma is horrifying, like butt. The appearance is excellent, dark but almost slightly translucent brown. The beer is more effervescent, just like all their products. The flavor is delicious, like a dark belgian as described.

Pours nearly black with 1/4 inch of tan head that disappears after about one minute. Aroma is dominated by black grapes, and plums. Smells also consist of yeast, raisins, and some spice. Taste has strong flavors of dark fruit, some herb, spice, a little dark malt and yeast. Overall the flavor is slightly bitter. The body is light and heavily carbonated. Unlike most people, I really don’t mind a dark beer that isn’t thick. I find it a refreshing departure from the normal consistency and mouth feel of dark beer. This is not a normal beer. The grape flavor and effervescent mouth feel make this one a unique a tasty beer in my book. I like it.

Uma cerveja muito saborosa. Uma Dark Storng Ale com um paladar cítrico no final. Espuma de pouca duração. Encorpada, levemente alcóolica no final. Aroma de frutas vermelhas, pão escuro úmido.

Pours dark brown, lots of head, long time to dissipate. Aroma is elusive very mild fruits and yeast. Flavor was fair not very complex, a hint of chocolate and dark fruit, a very simple dark beer. Yearning for a fuller body, a nice everyday dark, decent at best.

Pours a deep, dark brown with a thick head that dissipates slowly to a layer of foam. Aroma is very nice – very fruity, with lots of grape, some other dark fruits, allspice and yeast. Smells like it’s trying really hard to be the Roche 10. Flavor is a bit odd – very, very sweet – like a mix of grape juice and molasses with some yeasty notes. There isn’t nearly enough to counter the sweetness in here – it’d be great if it had a better hop balance and a higher ABV. Not bad, but certainly not great.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black. With an impressive tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma has that Unibroue yeast coming through very strongly. Dark fruits (mainly plums) come through on the nose, some chocolate, some herbal notes and cola. Tastes a lot like cola initially. Some herbs, a hint of chocolate, spice, plums, figs, a little raisin, a little black cherry, and a lot of that very distinctive Unibroue yeast. Lively carbonation. Decent beer, but I expect more from Unibroue.
