Commercial Description:
Chambly Noire is a smooth and creamy dark beer with a beige and persistent head. Its torrefaction aromas and slight bitterness enable it to perfectly accompany various fish dishes, strong cheeses and chocolate desserts.

Sample@MCAS Miramar Marine Mart: Very dark brown color with a small beige head. Aroma has yeast and spice with a hint of licorice. Flavor starts sweet dark fruit with some spice followed by dark chocolate and cherry with a lightly bitter finish. Medium bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation.

750 mL bottle from Jovi, served at cellar temp in a tulip glass. JL28/07.

App.: Deep brown-red-black, moderate light mocha head, clarity uncertain. Aroma: Strong yeast and dough, a little tangy, some medium roasted malts, light sweet caramel, slightly fruity – some dark, dried fruits. Palate: Medium body, very soft carbonation. Flav.: Starts with plenty of yeast and dough, some sweet malty notes, lightly funky; more nutty, medium roasted malts on swallowing.

Light, clean and refreshing...interesting given the colour.

A fine brew yet again. Very creamy head and feel. Dark brown. Flavor is sweet and slightly fruity. And another great label.

Wheaty for a dark beer. Very good. Very dark brown color. Carbination is like that of soda.

Didn’t really do much for me. Brown pour with a good-sized off-whtie head. Vinuous nose with licorice, cherries, and spice. Flat mouthfeel. Fruity, sweet, and spicy. Lots of grapes. It just felt as if somehting was missing.

Black/brown with a tan head. The aroma is spicy with notes of yeast and licorice. The flavour is sweetish, almost wheat like, spicy with notes of caramel, a bit of yeast and coriander and I sense the alcohol. It’s not nearly as powerful as I hoped it would be... 1870

12 oz bottle. Pours like the color of cola and with lite brown foamy head. Aroma sweet yeasty and fruity. Taste malty and yeasty with a clean finish.

bottle poured a chestnut brown in color with lively carbination and a one finger head that settled to a nice ring that stayed throughout. smell is chocolate malt, plumbs, alcohol, and light caramel. taste is malty with a nice carbination that makes it very refreshing. i have kept away from there beer from past tastes but this one is good, maybe a little underrated as well. may make me retry the others.
