COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chambly Noire is a smooth and creamy dark beer with a beige and persistent head. Its torrefaction aromas and slight bitterness enable it to perfectly accompany various fish dishes, strong cheeses and chocolate desserts.

A: Pours a sort of muddy poop brown. Looks thin... Much better in the glass where it has a subtle red hue but still remains a little dull. S: Smell is big on this one and I could get a good wiff before I even put my nose to the glass. Fruity, musty. More citrus here than in other belgian styles. T: Huge grape note. A little estry earthy twang. Finish is pretty smooth. Some lingering must but hits pretty well. P: Carbonation is very playful with no aggression at all. Light-medium body. Overall this beer is one of the best not-going-for-anything-spectacular belgians I’ve had. Very nice flavors but none are that big. It has all the characteristics of a belgian only it remains very easy to drink due to a certain lightness... Nothing I would rush out to buy but if you’re looking to step into belgians this would be a good one. Also Unibroue really doesn’t ever disappoint.

12oz bottle, from Party Town. Best before 02-21-08. Wait, 2008??? Holy crap, I have never seen a unibroue bottle this old. Almost pitch black color. Thin khaki head. Loose bits of lace. Unfortunately very little flavor to this, and some noticeable oxidization. Dark fruit, light spice, some raisin. Very dry finish, papery, musty. Medium to bigger body. Kind of soft, lighter, very dry carbonation. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. Light sweet in that super dry finish, maybe. Kind of a spicy bite in the finish. Much harder to drink than I was hoping for when I grabbed this from my fridge. Pretty shit, way too damn old. Waste of $2.75. I forced it down over the course of an hour, though, so that I’d never again be tempted to by a 7 year old bottle of unibroue.

Unibroue Chambly Noire I had no clue there was a Chambly Noire. Im a big fan of the Blanche. Versus dark black pour as expexted. Pretty much no head. Distinct smell I cannot place. Thick low carbonation. Very thick. Stout like. Nutty and fruity. Raisins and plumb and more. Its okay. Not great, butnin no way bad.

341ml bottle from Allen’s Bar. Toronto, Ontario. It pours an opaque dark brown colour with a small tan head which quickly recedes to a ring. Good head (ring) retention. It has a complex aroma and a mixture of dark fruit, grapes candy(liquirish), plum and notes of cloves. The taste matches the aroma. It has a medium body with lively carbonation.

From notes: Poured deep brown-to-black, opaque, with a 3-finger light tan head. Tannic, wine-like aroma with some wood underneath and a light roasty note. Medium body, with a brief, mildly dry finish. Wine-like flavor with notes of roasted malt and coffee beneath, with the wine-like note returning in the finish.

2014/01/29 - Pours an opaque dark brown-mahogany colour with a two finger, fizzy khaki head that reduces quickly. Aroma is Belgian yeast, roasted malts, spices bread and dark fruits. Taste is Belgian yeast, spices, roasted coffee, sweet caramel malts and dark fruits. Mouthfeel is slightly thin with lively carbonation and a sweet persistent finish. Good, but not unibroue's best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2014 Pours a jet black, with an off white head with aroma notes of burn?t wood, smoked malts, liquorice, unibroue yeast, and pepper. Taste notes include liquorice, fig, nuts, tannins, yeast, and spicy. The body is quite expectantly thin, with a bitter and watery finish_

It pours black with brown highlights; the head is bone-coloured and foamy. The aroma has notes of: roasted malts, coffee, and sweet malts. The taste is light bitter; there are notes: the aforementioned aroma notes, plus some bready notes. The palate is light bodied, aqueous, and has a medium finish. Overall, sort of boring frankly.

Nice looking dark pour. Much carbonation Some sweetness, molasses in nose. Odd thing is the taste was just there - not much too it; not bad, but nothing good either??

5oz draft into a tulip at Stillwell. Pours a deep black with a lasting beige head. Really not much of a nose; a bit of roasted maltiness, a hint of something I can only describe as burning rubber? Creamy and a bit sweet, but not much else. Maybe a bit of spiciness? Strange; was expecting something a bit more robust. Balanced, but bland.
