Pours a cloudy golden blonde brew with a thick and lumpy off-white head that has some nice retention. Aroma of mild yeast, golden grain bread dough, a touch of honey and citrus zest. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of golden grain malt, yeast, some honey and a touch of vanilla. Finish is semi-sweet with a yeast, banana and golden grain malt aftertaste. Pours a cloudy golden honey color with thick frothy white head. Looks like a tripel ale. Smells of bread, yeast, dough, fresh hay, and hints of honey and citrus. Taste is sweet with notes of honey and caramel, malt and citrus. Medium-bodied ale with a quick-sweet apple finish. squirreltail (3), USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2008 This beer reminds me a lot of Victory Golden Monkey but doesn’t have as overpowering of an alcohol taste. Pours a creamy golden color with a quickly diminishing head. Sweet but not too sweet for a Belgian strong ale. Will definitely buy it again but it ranks behind Trois Pistole as ar as Unibroue beers go. dkachur (2347), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Pours hazy orange with a medium fizzy head that disappears quickly. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, caramel and spice. Taste is the same but with a yeast character and more pronounced. Fizzy. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2008 Appearance: Pours a cloudy, murky golden body with a tall, though diminishing, white head.
Smell: Spiced wheat malts, a wide variety of fruit juices, vanilla, and clover honey.
Taste: Malted wheat with a restrained honeylike sweetness. Juiced pears, nectarines, and bananas, all a bit tangy and stirred up with a vanilla bean. Touch of spice and sourness. Maybe a few flecks of candi sugar. Warming, fruity finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate, lively carbonation. Some creaminess to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Not bad, not bad. I’m going down Memory Lane with Unibroue, and, so far, I’m leaning towards the maltier offerings, Maudite and Trois Pistoles. downender (2578), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

Golden-brown in colour with a tight, off-white head that proved long-lived. Aromas of yeast, cloves, coriander and and honey. Flavour was sweetish, with plenty of toffee, overripe pears, more spices and a long, yeasty but dry finish. Excellent.
